2 OUR STORY Future Stars Academy (FSA) believes in the power of sports. We are a non-profit organization focusing on children, youth and football with the aim to empower them and enhance their physical and mental health. It is not just about playing football, but about using football (and sports) as a tool to touch base on other crucial issues for the youth in Arusha and Moshi and help them in becoming responsible members for their local communities. The academy has one rule: No school No Play. The FSA is operating since 2009 in Arusha and Moshi, Tanzania. We provide football training and competition (including attending tournaments) to disadvantaged children from 6 to 20 years.

3 VOLUNTEERING Since we are a non-profit organization we are always keen on having volunteers. At Future Stars Academy we believe that everyone is a star and everyone has something to add. We can all learn from each other. Volunteering at Future Stars is a life learning experience that will broaden the horizon of volunteers and give them a different perspective. Volunteering at FSA means that a volunteer will work with like minded individuals, both local Tanzanians and other foreign participants to make a difference. FSA will support the volunteer along this journey. As football and sports is a universal language we embrace diversity and development. The Academy has different projects where the volunteer can be of added value both in the office and on the field. Depending on the skills and background of the Volunteer, FSA will decide after the intake what could be the perfect fit for the Volunteer.

4 TASKS VOLUNTEERS ON THE FIELD The Volunteer has the possibility to assist as a football coach with coaching and delivering trainings for different age categories. The level of football played is quite high. Therefore, the Volunteer need a certain interest and understanding of football. IN THE OFFICE The Volunteer will support FSA in the office with the skills and expertise that the Volunteer has. He/ She can support us in the following areas: communication, strategy, project management, event coordination and/ or fundraising.

5 SCHEDULE In general the Volunteer will spend approximately 2 days on the field as a football coach and 3 days supporting our organization in the office. This is depended on the need and schedule at the moment the Volunteer is volunteering. 6 PROFILE VOLUNTEER The Volunteer should at least have the following requirements to volunteer at FSA: Minimum age 18 Proficient in English (Swahili is an advantage) Independent and pro-active personality In good physical health Interest in Sport (preferable football) Open mind towards a different culture

7 REQUIREMENTS VOLUNTEERING The Volunteer should at least have the following requirements to volunteer at FSA: Minimum duration on the project is 4 weeks Volunteer is flexible and will support where help is needed Maximum volunteers per month is 4 The Volunteer will bring his/ her own laptop to work in the office

9 RESPONSIBILITIES The responsibilities of Future Stars Academy starts from arrival of the volunteer in Arusha. From then on FSA has arranged the following services: Airport transfer to and from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO); Welcome package (FSA handbook General information Contact list); Handling all requirements around the Volunteer permit and communication with Immigration; City tour (half day with Swahili/English speaking guide), including registering for a SIM-card; Introduction at project (first day); 24/7 standby service of a English speaking guest house manager in case of any questions, challenges, problems or advice needed.

10 ACCOMMODATION We are offering a great accommodation for our volunteers: Stay in volunteer house (sharing with around volunteers from different projects) Daily breakfast (bread, butter, jam, eggs, fruits, tea, coffee) Daily dinner (warm meal which is a mix of local and international food) Cleaning service once a week (Saturdays) Laundry service at additional costs (Weekend)
