Your shipped container should include: a receiver pinned to the end of the 4' Boom Arm Bottom a folded mast section with chainsaw and hydraulic lines The packet contains: 4 nuts and bolts, for attaching the receiver to your loader a 3/16 allen wrench for adjusting chain oiler a brochure Strap Bracket a warranty registration card an Installation/Safety manual that you should read completely before you begin installation and operation Receiver Exit Flange Cut banding straps and separate pieces as shown INSTALLING THE RECEIVER Install the receiver to the back of your loader, at the top, on the right side. Positioning it at the top of the bucket, as shown in this picture, will afford you an extra two feet of reach when operating your saw. When installing the receiver with the bolts, use a 1/2" drill bit. Receiver can also be welded in place. Loaders which have rolled or folded lips may require a spacer to achieve proper alignment. Check alignment before proceeding with installation. Hydraulic Hose Clamp Welded on Spacer Bolted on 1

ASSEMBLING THE SAW The Boom sections must be joined before mounting Limbinator to your vehicle. Remove the two (2) bolts from the end of the Limbinator Arm assembly with a 9/16" wrench. Rotate and stand the Arm assembly onto the strap bracket, with hydraulic hoses toward you, as shown. Place Boom Arm Bottom at the end of the Arm assembly, hose exit flange toward you. Insert hydraulic hoses into swedge end of Boom Arm Bottom and out through exit flange. See pictures left and below. Slide sections together while pulling the slack from the hydraulic hoses. Exit Flange Remove bolts before assembly Reinsert the two (2) bolts and tighten with 9/16" wrench to secure. Use a 1/2" wrench to loosen the hydraulic hose clamp, insert hoses, then retighten. MOUNTING THE SAW Before mounting the Limbinator Saw into the receiver, rotate your bucket so the receiver is positioned as shown. Your saw weighs about 86 lbs, making it easy to mount. Lift the saw and insert the end into the receiver until it hits the stop. Pin and clip to secure. The saw can be easily removed and stored when not in use. Because every tractor has its hydraulic hookups in a different location, your Limbinator Saw does not include the hydraulic lines that attach to the vehicle. You will need to purchase these lines with a minimum of 3/8" hydraulic hose. Measure from the auxiliary hookups of your vehicle to the hydraulic hookups on your saw. Allow enough slack in your lines for the full rotation of your bucket. The bottom right picture shows the saw in the transport position. When driving to and from your work site, always keep the saw folded and pinned to protect it from the wear and tear that bouncing can cause. Always be aware of power lines and other hazards that may be hanging in your path. Transport Position 2

OPERATING POSITION To unfold saw into operating position, remove pin that holds saw arm closed against mast. Make sure that your loader bucket is rotated up enough that saw arm can open and come forward without hitting the ground. Lift saw arm and pin nylon strap into center hole of the strap bracket with pin you just removed from holding the mast in the folded transport position. The center hole is used for most of the cuts. If you are cutting branches close to the ground and need the saw arm and mast to be straighter, use the hole closest to the loader. If you are making cuts that require more angle between the mast and saw arm, use the hole closest to the saw blade. See additional information about using your Limbinator Saw on page 5. CHAIN TENSION Using a 9/16" wrench, loosen 2 nuts holding the black chain guard cover with white warning sticker. Use the 9/16" wrench, loosen locking nut as shown then adjust carriage bolt. Screw bolt out to tighten chain, in to loosen. Retighten locking nut after adjustment. Chain tension should be the same as any hand held chainsaw. Do not over tighten. Over tightening will cause chain to stretch, cause additional wear and tear on the sprocket and additional strain on the motor. Re-tighten guard cover when adjustment is complete. Never operate the saw with the chain guard cover loose or off. Correct installation and setting of chain tensioner. Correct chain tension. 3

ADJUSTING CHAIN OILER FLOW This unit has a flow regulator valve installed and is preset to flow at 7 GPM. This valve ensures manufacturer s optimum flow rate for the Parker Motor that is used in the Limbinator Saw. In the event that your preset, self oiler needs adjustment, remove black outer motor cover with a 1/2" wrench to expose oiler. Push up on the blue push lock ring as shown in this photo and carefully remove clear poly oil line from oiler. Insert 3/16" Allen wrench that was provided in your Manual packet into blue push lock as shown in this photo. To loosen and increase flow turn counter clockwise. To tighten and decrease flow turn clockwise. Use extreme caution using no more than ¼ turns to make adjustment. Reinsert poly tubing into blue push lock. Position a piece of paper or cardboard on the ground and lower chainsaw blade over the paper. Oil Spatter Saw Blade Tip From the tractor seat, run your saw several seconds. Look to see if there is any oil splatter on the paper and verify oil flow in poly tubing. Adjust oil flow until you have a fine spray of oil on the paper. When you have achieved the correct flow, replace black outer motor cover. 4

USING YOUR LIMBINATOR SAW When driving your tractor or loader across pastures and uneven terrain, please pin your saw closed into the transport position. Driving with the saw open in the operating position may damage pins and the yellow nylon strap. Use caution when driving under power lines and low hanging branches. Adjust the height of your saw by raising and lowering your loader, or adjusting the tilt angle of the bucket, to clear obstacles that could potentially get caught on your saw during transport. When beginning a cut, position the saw on a branch and lower your loader until you see slack in the yellow strap. This means that the required weight of the saw is resting on the limb to make a clean cut. Do not lower your loader to assist in making the cut. The weight of the saw is all that is Transport Position Slack in strap required to make each cut. On large limbs, it may be necessary to lower your loader to complete a cut. If this is the circumstance, always stop the saw first. Lower your loader until you see slack in the yellow strap once again and then resume cutting. When cutting large or heavy limbs, make several cuts to remove weight from the limb before making the final cut at the base. This will minimize the chance of the bark from peeling and also decrease the chance of the limb rolling and pinching the saw. As you gain experience with your saw, you will become more perceptive at judging how many cuts it will take to remove the amount of weight needed for a clean, easy final cut. When in doubt, make an extra cut. 5

Safety Instructions YOUR TRACTOR, SKIDLOADER, BACKHOE (Vehicle) It is important that you completely understand and follow all safety precautions listed in your tractor, skidloader, backhoe or other vehicle manual. Check with your Limbinator Saws dealer to be sure that the Limbinator Saw will be compatible with your vehicle. Your ability to drive and maneuver this vehicle and its front end loader in a safe, familiar, and professional manner is directly related to your safety and the professional results you will obtain with your saw. Cuts are made by lowering the loader and/or rotating the bucket in a skilled manner. Uneducated driving of your vehicle and use of its loader may cause serious or fatal injury to the operator and bystanders, damage your Limbinator Saw beyond immediate, simple repairs, or damage your vehicle. Placing too much down pressure on the branch while you are making a cut could result in damage to the saw. Remember, the mechanics and the weight of your saw are what make the cut. Re-read and familiarize yourself with all of the safety and operation instructions in your vehicle manual before installing and operating the Limbinator Saw on your loader. Read the entire Limbinator Installation and Safety Manual and review the Installation DVD that is on the LimbinatorSaws.com website before installing and operating your unit. Also re-read both your vehicle manual and your Limbinator Installation and Safety Manual at the beginning of each season to maintain your knowledge of this equipment. Periodically check the website of both your vehicle manufacturer and Limbinator Saw for recent updates, engineering changes, improvements on equipment, and new videos. Parts and their usage, and the operation of your equipment may change over time. Serious or fatal injury can occur without maintaining proper familiarity with all your equipment. THE OPERATOR To minimize the chance of injury the operator of this cutting device must be physically capable, mentally aware and not under the influence of any mind influencing substance (drugs, alcohol, etc.) that could alter operator s vision, dexterity or judgment, this includes the influence of fatigue. Do not operate your vehicle or saw if you are tired. Operators that are tired or fatigued should immediately discontinue the use of this unit. Lack of concentration due to fatigue may cause loss of control of device leading to possible injury to operator and damage to equipment. If you think you have any condition that might impair your physical or mental ability to operate this machine please check with your doctor before beginning use. Extended use of any machinery may cause White finger Disease (Raynard s phenomenon) or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Although the Limbinator Saw is operated from the seat of your tractor and does not expose the operator to vibrations that other chainsaws have, this does not guarantee that you will not acquire White finger Disease or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Please monitor the use of hands and fingers and seek medical attention immediately if symptoms of this disease occurs. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING Protective clothing should be worn at all times when using this unit to reduce the risk of injury. Clothing must fit properly. Protect legs and arms from falling branches and brush by wearing pants and clothing made of sturdy, protective fabric. Always wear gloves when operating any equipment or power tools. Please follow all safety instructions that apply to your vehicle and loader pertaining to protective clothing while operating your unit. Protective footwear with non slip soles and steel toes are also recommended. Use an ASTM approved hard hat to avoid head injuries. Although there is minimal noise from your LIMBINATOR SAW, only the rotation of the chain, it is advisable that the operator use protective ear plugs or ear mufflers to protect their hearing. Always have your hearing checked regularly when operating mechanical equipment and machinery. When wearing hearing protection pay special attention to your ability to react to warning signals from alarms and shouting people. Always wear protective, properly fitted goggles to protect eyes from falling and splintering limbs and debris. Goggles should have side and top protection complying with ANSI Z 87.1 (or your applicable national standard). It is also recommended to wear a protective face shield over your protective eye wear. Always wear heavy, nonslip gloves when operating your unit. 7

YOUR LIMBINATOR SAW Because the LIMBINATOR SAW is a powerful, high-speed cutting chainsaw, special safety precautions must be maintained to reduce the risk of bodily injury. All safety precautions that are applied when operating any cutting or trimming device also apply to the operation of your LIMBINATOR SAW. Observe all applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations, standards, and ordinances. If you are unsure or have concerns about installing and using your Limbinator Saw, have your Limbinator dealer or representative demonstrate the proper installation and use before you attempt it yourself. Do not allow anyone to use your Limbinator Saw without their full understanding of all the safety and operation guidelines and instructions in this manual. The use of this machine is potentially dangerous. This unit has a saw chain with many sharp cutting edges. If the chain makes contact with any part of your body, it will cut you, even if the unit is not in operation, even if your are wearing protective clothing. Your Limbinator Saw should only be used for cutting tree branches. Using it for any other purposes may result in personal injury, damage to the unit, damage your vehicle, and can void the warranty. Do not use saw mast to lift or move tree limbs. Using the mast for lifting will damage the equipment and void warranty. Individuals under the age of 18 should not be allowed to handle or operate this unit even under supervision. Children and pets should not be allowed within 50 feet of the area of operation. To reduce the risk of accidental injury and damage to property, never park or leave your vehicle unattended (even for a few minutes) with the Limbinator Saw in a low position where unauthorized people can have contact with the saw blade. Always raise blade above contact level, turn off, and be sure to park away from unauthorized people to avoid contact and potential injury. The warnings listed in this manual apply to the use of all cutting devices. Safe use of a LIMBINATOR Saw involves: 1. The operator 2. The vehicle/loader and its maintenance and operation 3. The correct installation of the Limbinator Saw 4. The correct maintenance of the Limbinator Saw 5. The correct application of the Limbinator Saw Never make any modifications to your Limbinator Saw. Limbinator Saw, LLC provides all approved and authorized parts for your unit. Although some unauthorized parts may be usable on your unit, their use may be unsafe and dangerous to the operator, cause damage to your saw, or cause damage to your vehicle. If a part needs to be replaced, please contact your local Limbinator Saw representative for a list of approved parts and where they can be purchased. Using unauthorized parts can be potentially dangerous. TRANSPORTING YOUR LIMBINATOR SAW Never drive your vehicle while the chain saw is in the open position or is spinning. Always disengage the hydraulics, and fold the saw into the transport position. Driving your vehicle with the chainsaw in the open position can result in bending the mast and pins. Always operate your Limbinator Saw from the safety of your vehicle seat. Always turn off your vehicle engine, fold and pin your Limbinator Saw into the transport position, before parking your vehicle for the day or transporting your vehicle. BEFORE USE Never use your Limbinator Saw if it is damaged, not assembled correctly, not maintained properly, or not adjusted properly. For correct assembly of the chain and bar please follow the instructions in the Installation Manual. The chain, guidebar and rim sprocket must match each other in gauge and pitch. Correct chain tension is vital for the safety and correct operation of your Limbinator Saw. Please follow the instructions for tensioning procedure in your Limbinator Installation Manual. Always make sure the hexagonal nuts for the chain guard cover are tightened securely after tensioning the chain in order to secure the bar. Continually monitor the tension of the chain and the tightness of the nuts as you would any other chainsaw. If the chain becomes loose while in operation, shut off vehicle engine and then tighten the chain. Never make adjustments to any part of your Limbinator Saw while your vehicle engine is running. Never have anyone tighten or make adjustments to the saw while the operator is in the drivers seat. 8

STARTING Be sure the guidebar and chain are clear of all objects except the limb you are about to cut before engaging your saw. Never engage your saw when it is touching the ground. Never engage your saw while people are within 50 ft. of your Limbinator Saw. Never use your saw near power lines or electrical extension cords. Never use your Limbinator Saw indoors. DURING OPERATION Always be sure your vehicle is properly balanced and on secure level terrain when using your Limbinator Saw. Use extra caution when on wet ground, mud, or snow. When driving in tall grass and vegetation use extra caution and avoid stumps, rocks, holes and ditches. Use extreme caution when driving on slopes and uneven ground. Limbing is the process of cutting branches from a tree. Do not make cuts with the nose of the bar. Be very careful not to contact other limbs or the body of the tree with the nose of the bar. Always cut with the chain spinning in a forward motion. Always make your cuts in a downward motion cutting from the top of the branch through the bottom. If the saw becomes pinched or bound in the cut, do not try to drive the vehicle out of the bind. Simply reverse the hydraulic control of the saw and slowly lift the loader up to raise the saw out of the cut. Resume cutting from the top of the cut. To minimize pinching and tearing bark from tree on larger, heavier branches, cut the limb in sections several feet at a time. Always start at the end of the limb and work your way toward the trunk. Do not attempt to cut anything but tree branches with your saw. Check chain tension at regular intervals during operation. If chain becomes loose while cutting, turn off vehicle engine before approaching and tightening chain. Good judgment is recommended whenever you use your equipment. Avoid working in strong winds and any type of bad weather (rain, ice, snow). Never use your Limbinator Saw at night or in a dark area. Use only with good visibility. Always turn off your vehicle engine before removing unit from loader. Although it is recommended that other people are not in the vicinity during the operation of your Limbinator Saw, always be sure there is someone available in case of an emergency. Always stay within cell phone reception or calling distance. Always stop engine when someone approaches you during the operation of your unit. MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR Maintenance and repair of any part of your Limbinator Saw, other than the motor, may be done by any owner/operator with basic mechanical skills. Motor warranty coverage may be denied if your Limbinator Saw has not been properly serviced or maintained or non approved replacement parts are used during repairs. Use only identical replacement parts for maintenance and repairs (see page 6). Use of inappropriate or non-approved parts may cause serious or fatal injury and may damage your vehicle or unit. Strictly follow instructions for maintenance and repairs in the Installation Manual that was provided with your unit at time of purchase. Always make sure the chain has stopped spinning before doing any maintenance or repairs. Always wear gloves when handling or performing maintenance on your Limbinator Saw. Always keep the chain, bar and sprocket clean. Replace worn out parts as needed. Always operate with a sharp chain. When burn marks appear on the wood that you are cutting, or soft, easy to cut wood is hard to cut, it s time to replace or sharpen your chain. Cutting with a dull chain will increase the time it takes to cut and will cause vibration of your unit and excessive wear on your unit. Loose hardware on your unit will also cause vibration. Follow manufacturer s maintenance and sharpening instructions for the chain. Always keep chain at proper tension. Tighten all nuts, bolts and screws after each use and check all nuts, bolts and screws before each use. 9
