Many commercial applications require large quantities of hot water either at peak times or throughout the day. Hospitality, multi-family, and dormitory applications require thousands of gallons of hot water each year. The Lochinvar µchp not only helps meet the hot water requirements, it also provides low cost, supplemental power to owners with a reasonable return on investment while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Excess heat can be redirected for pool heating or snow melt to fully utilize the efficiency of the µchp. Other industry applications include: healthcare, prisons, schools and universities, car washes, and laundry facilities, making Lochinvar the preferred specification choice for contractors and engineers. 6 COMPLETE SYSTEM - ONE SOURCE FOR EQUIPMENT Lochinvar s µchp system consists of four main components Power Unit, Q-Heat Distributor, iq-control Panel, and storage tank. The Power Unit is the heart of every system. Its engine was specially developed to be exceptionally durable and reliable. The heat generated from the engine is transferred via the Q-Heat Distributor to the property s heating circuit, to which the storage tank is also connected. The iq-control Panel is the primary controller of the system and controls the Power Unit in line with your requirements optimizing its operation automatically. Unlike what is usual in the industry, all individual components, including software, as well as their interaction have been tested and certified by an independent inspection body, ensuring that the Lochinvar µchp meets the highest safety standards. 7 ENERGY CONSERVATION Conventional power stations utilize only about 40% of the fuel used, as they only generate electricity.
