1 Report on Environmental Awareness Camps (at School Level) There are many environmental issues in India like Air pollution, water pollution, garbage, and pollution of the natural environment are all challenges for India. The situation was worse since 1947.at the same time according to data collection and environment assessment studies of World Bank experts, between 1995 through 2010, India has made one of the fastest progresses in the world, in addressing its environmental issues and improving its environmental quality. Still, India has a long way to go to reach environmental quality similar to those enjoyed in developed economies. Pollution remains a major challenge for India. These environmental issues are one of the primary causes of disease, health issues and long term livelihood impact for India. Strategies of school level Environmental camps The aims Environmental Awareness Camps at schools should be to develop proper understanding of the main facts, concepts, principles and processes in physical and biological environment Environmental education at different levels was treated in a different way. Awareness and Understanding on Environmental issues is an essential part of every pupil's learning. It helps to encourage awareness of the environment, leading to informed concern for active participation in resolving environmental problems. If subjects and thoughts in Environmental issues introduced without any delay at schools, as a subject so that right from their childhood, the right attitudes towards environment will be nurtured in the young minds. It is important that we capture this enthusiasm and that no opportunity is lost to develop knowledge, understanding and concern for the environment through school campaigns. Several workshops were conducted to orient school teachers and educational functionaries on various aspects of environmental education. Objective of the program: To sensitized the students and community members on environmental issues. increase public awareness about environmental issues, explore possible solutions Active participation of individual in the protection of environment and the prudent and rational use of natural resources Encourage pupils to examine and interpret the environment from a variety of perspectivesphysical, geographical, biological, sociological, economic, political, technological, and historical. To realize the Human Efforts on environmental issues. The way in which each individual can, by his own behaviour and action, contribute to the protection of environment and improve management of environment and provide satisfactory solutions to environmental issues. To understand the basic knowledge on environmental issues and realizing the situations. To realizing the links with Environmental issues and effects like primary causes of disease, health issues and long term livelihood impacts. Awareness camp at Idduvanipalem (MPUP School) About Program at School On the dated 01 st Nov 2014 at MPUP School, Idduvanipalem organized school level Environmental Awareness camp were student from standard 1 st to 8 th participated in event along with teachers, PRI members, Community members & BREDS members like President, PD Key points from students Meaning: To pollute our surroundings and nature causes to natural hazards and

2 and facilitate the program by BREDS/ IGSSS staff. In the starting of event Programing Direct MR. V. S. Murthy of BREDS were welcomed to all participants and honourable guests, after he gives short introduction of all chaired person there after he addressed the objective of program. There after BREDS President MR. G. Ramanaya and Respective School HM MR. K. Lingaraj will addressed on Purpose of Environmental Awareness program in encouraged manner. There after 13 no of students where participated in the debate competitions were discussed on the topic Environmental Issues and its Effects in effective manner. During the program where students discussed each individual thoughts, issues, impacts and ideas which helpful to create awareness among the students and community towards sensitized on Environmental issues. After the addressing their speeches by all students PC of IGSSS/ BREDS sharing the students ideas there after again MR. G. Ramanaya (President, BREDS), MR. K. Lingaraj (School HM) & MR. K. Ranga Rao (HM, Borivanka UP School) give their feed backs on students speech and addressing on issues, impacts of Environment Pollutions, climate changes, deforestations and Sanitation. There for announces the names of 01 st, 02 nd & 3 rd place occurred students name and distributed the prizes and towards encourage the participants giving them consolations prizes to rest 10 members. There after MR. V. S. Murthy will was giving his valuable suggestions on Sanitations and plantation and distributed Green Environment Books (IEC Materials) to Chaired persons. So far MR. Ranga Rao (HM, Borivanka UP School) addressed on the Environmental issues and what steps to be taken and he was thanked to all for succeed the event at school. After conclude School level program, BREDS/ IGSSS staff were take initiate to organizing village level Awareness cum Sanitation program with students and march in the village surroundings with different slogans /IEC Materials (in Local languages) which helps sensitizing to community on Environmental Issues and community themselves also participated in village surroundings cleaning program which can be encouraged as. imbalances Types of pollutions: Water pollutions, Air Pollution, Land pollution etc Causes: Smokes and west water from industries, increased motors/ vehicles, using of chemicals, polithin bags, deforestation, lack of sanitations, chemical appliances in agriculture field etc. Effects: Imbalances in climate/ climate changes, Natural Hazards Health issues like Abola, cancer, dhyria, callara, athama etc. Increased humidity, ozone layer was destroyed Steps need to be taken: Plantation and create new forests, banning of Polythin usages, focus on organic manure in Agriculture field, controlling of Industrial negligence s, maintained of sanitation, overall controlling of pollute bodies through street laws. Some other points from Students: June 5 th was world Environment day. Sri Narendra Moddi initiated Swatch Bharat Program. Arogyam a Mahabhagyam (Health is Wealth) Usage of cellular phones and its tower Radiances, new technologies, Heavy no of Motor vehicles usage & its smoke Hazards like at Utarakhand (Last Year) & Kashmir (this Year) was example of Env. Issues

4 Awareness camp at PK Palem (MPUP School) About Program at School On the dated 05 st Nov 2014 at Pedda karrivani Palem MPUP School, we are organized school level Environmental Awareness camp were student from 1 st to 8 th standard participated in event along with teachers, PRI members, Community members & BREDS members Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao (consultant), Students of RMIT University, Melbourne- Austrelia & coordinated by BREDS/ IGSSS & Swashakthi federation staff. In the starting of event Project coordinator were welcomed to all participants and honourable guests, after he gives short introduction of all chaired person there after he addressed the objective of program and distributed the Green Environment Books (IEC) to chaired person. There after PK Palem VAT Committee president and word member will addressed on Purpose and objective of Environmental Awareness program in encouraged manner. There after concern school HM will give his valuable advises and speech to students there for 10 no of students where participated in the debate competitions were discussed on the topic Environmental Pollution and its causes, impact, what step need to be taken. During the program where students discussed each individual thoughts, issues, impacts and ideas which helpful to create awareness among the students and community towards sensitized on Environmental issues. After the addressing their speeches by all students PC of IGSSS/ BREDS sharing the student s ideas and students through some cultural activities entertained. There after MR. G. Chandra (BREDS Member) will address on environment and climate changes and another teacher where share his knowledge s on Environmental issues along with Sanitary problems. Honourable Judges give their feed backs on student s speech and addressing on issues, impacts of Environment Pollutions, climate changes, deforestations and Sanitation. There for announces the names of 01 st, 02 nd & 3 rd place occurred students name and distributed the prizes and towards encourage the participants giving them consolations prizes to rest members. There after Students of RMIT will giving his valuable suggestions on program and activities, benefits of plantation. So far VAT President, Word Member & Village secretary was addressed on the Environmental issues and along with School HM, VAT president was present vote for thanks to all for succeed the event at school and did plantation different nutrient plants at Scholl. After conclude School level program, BREDS/ IGSSS staff were take initiate to organizing village level Awareness cum Sanitation program with students and march in the village surroundings with different slogans /IEC Materials (in Local languages) which helps sensitizing to community on Environmental Issues and community themselves also participated in village surroundings cleaning program which can be encouraged as. Key points from students population explosion and irrecoverable destruction of natural resources affecting our Environment Types of pollutions: Water pollutions, Air Pollution, Land pollution etc Causes: Increased Population, Smokes and west water from industries, increased motors/ vehicles, using of chemicals, polithin bags, deforestation, lack of sanitations, chemical appliances in agriculture field etc. Effects: Imbalances in climate/ climate changes, Natural Hazards Health issues like cancer, dhyria, callara, asthama, Nimonia etc. Increased humidity, ozone layer was destroyed Steps need to be taken: Plantation and create new forests, banning of Polythin usages, focus on organic manure in Agriculture field, controlling of Industrial negligence s, maintained of sanitation and usage of toilets, overall controlling of pollute bodies through street laws. Some other points from Students: June 5 th was world Environment day. Nature friendly Insects & Birds are destroyed due to pollution and usage of Fertilizers and others Polithing Bags were take long time for decompose Cellular Towers Radiances and signals were causes to destroyed birds like Sparrow which are known as environmental friendly

6 Small Note on Environmental Awareness camp An awareness camp on Environmental & Climate changes was organized at Idduvanipalem & PK Palem High School of Kaviti mandal, in Srikakulam district, in association with IGSSS, New Delhi to realize the Environmental issues. Kaviti Mandal located approximately 120 KM from District HQ Srikakulam it is situated on Very close to Bay of Bengal and less than 200mtr from sea mouth and village was selected to conduct the Awareness (on Env.). The effort of organizing School level awareness camp giving be to develop proper understanding of the main facts, concepts, principles and processes in physical and biological environment Environmental education at different levels was treated in a different way. Awareness and Understanding on Environmental issues is an essential part of every pupil's learning. It helps to encourage awareness of the environment, leading to informed concern for active participation in resolving environmental problems. The objective of conducting the Environmental Awareness camp was to create awareness of general Environmental & Sanitation Issues among the people, and encouraging to community and students to follow the climate change practices, usage of organic process, usages of toilets & sanitation maintenance, maintained hygiene and plantation of trees. During the Program: Majority of students during their speeches addressed the our environment polluted due to globalization and smoke & Water flow from Industries which causes to Air & Water Pollution where deforestation, Cutting trees & usage of Fertilizers causes to Land Pollutions. Also some of students issued that changes in human behaviour like usage of Heavy no of motor vehicles which pollute our environments, Cellular phone/ towers where causes to different disseises & climate change impacts, using of polithing bags also harm full for our environment etc. During the program student addressing fallowing health issues- Nimmonia, Abola, Cancer, Dehydration, kallera was caused to pollution impacts. The major objective of organizing Environmental camp and awareness program is: To sensitized the people on Environmental Issues, Climate changes & sanitation problems. The right attitudes towards environment will be nurtured in the young minds. To find out environmental awareness ability among students. To find relation between achievement score in environmental education and environmental awareness ability. To encourage to community to Adoption climate change practices and improved traditional practices. To sensitize on water related diseases and water purifying process and decrease health issues. Encouraging to plantation such like Horticulture Plantations and farm forestry along with usage of organic manures. The awareness camp was a huge success with overwhelming response from the students, Teachers, RMIT Volunteers, local people and other PRI members.
