6 Commissioning (Cx) The process of verifying and documenting that a building and all of its systems and assemblies are planned, designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained to meet the owner s project requirements (OPRs).

7 Commissioning Benefits of commissioning include reduced energy use, lower operating costs, reduced contractor callbacks, better building documentation, improved occupant productivity and verification that the systems perform in accordance with the owner s project requirements.

12 EAP2 Minimum Energy Performance SCHOOLS EPA's TargetFinder Rating Tool Target Finder is an online tool that can establish energy performance goals for a project. It uses data such as zip code and building type to calculate the estimated total energy use for the building, and then it assigns an energy performance rating on a scale of 1 to 100.

33 Green Power NC, SCHOOLS & CS Engage in at least a 2 year renewable energy contract to provide at least 35% of the building s electricity from renewable sources, as defined by the Center for Resource Solutions Green e Energy product certification requirements.

34 All purchases of green power shall be based on the quantity of energy consumed, not the cost. OPTION 1. Determine Baseline Electricity Use Use the annual electricity consumption from the results of EA Credit 1: Optimize Energy Performance. OR OPTION 2. Estimate Baseline Electricity Use Use the U.S. Department of Energy s Commercial Buildings Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS) database to determine the estimated electricity use.

35 Green Power Renewable energy certificates (RECs), tradable renewable certificates (TRCs), green tags and other forms of green power that comply with the technical requirements of the Green e Energy program may be used to document compliance with this credit.
