12 KME Architectural Solutions going downstream KME Architectural Solutions is created to satisfy architectural design and multimetal construction requirements as an integrated partner able to offer a fully-integrated solution of service, quality experience, technical solutions and innovation, guaranteed by KME Experience. KME Architectural Solutions provides: High-quality products, available in a wide range and combinations of surfaces, textures, shapes and thicknesses; Project consulting service from initial preparation stages through design stage, pre-construction and construction stages of the project; Evaluation of new applications, prefabricated panel systems and solutions, in addition to those already available; Direct supervision on-site during installation; Cladding installation, customized to offer the full service from initial planning through to final installation. 12

13 KME Introduces Ecological Copper natural, recyclable, sustainable Copper is 100% recyclable without any loss of performance, over and over again. The outstanding high standard of refining at the KME plants today makes it possible to remove all impurities and eliminate any differences in quality between newly produced copper and copper derived from scrap metal. Recycling copper means saving 85% of the energy needed to produce the primary metal. Recycling reduces emissions related to the mining and smelting of primary copper, the volume of solid waste and the costs and problems related to its disposal. Ecological benefits will be proven by international certificates and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) according to ISO KME Ecological Copper, made entirely from 100% recyclables, ensures a very high score in certification ratings. KME is the only manufacturer that is now able to offer copper products for building and architecture entirely made from 100% recycled material. 13

14 KME Plus Antimicrobial copper alloys KME has been the first European manufacturer of copper semifinished goods to get the Antimicrobial Copper brand and Cu+ mark from the International Copper Association. Since ever strongly committed to environmental and health issues, KME has combined its knowledge and experience of copper metallurgy and the manufacturing process with a constant activity in R&D to create the KME Plus range, a new family of alloys with antimicrobial activity backed by scientific evidence. The KME Plus is today an effective additional tool to increase hygiene & reduce harmful bacteria everywhere we go, work, entertain. This strategic project represents an extraordinary opportunity to differentiate KME s offer, develop new market segments and involve new targets, creating a relevant competitive advantage on the market 14

15 Europe s leading training program for building applications To protect and support the usage of copper products, KME believes that constant training for architects and installers is key for success. Through its KME Academy Network, KME runs its own training centres Europe-wide, organising, on a regular basis, courses and seminars for architects, planning engineers, building companies, installers of roof and façade systems, plumbers and wholesaler staff. Along with theory seminars there are as well Certified Application Trainings for planning and implementation of sanitary and heating installations. KME Academy in numbers: thousands of visitors usually attend the outstanding seminars held at KME Academy every year. 15

16 Operational Excellence in all process One of the main goals in KME strategy is to strike excellence in all its products and services. Therefore, in 2008, KME has decided to implement a program of Operational Excellence called OpEx. OpEx is a continuous analysis, over the major processes, in order to improve work efficiency and product / service quality. After having created and internal function and cross border responsible, where all KME plants and central offices are actively participating, a 2nd OpEx Global Workshop has taken place; The focus is placed on safety, customer satisfaction, people empowerment and reduction of sources of losses OpEx is not a project, it is a process and a way of thinking! OpEx has already been applied successfully by many leading organizations and also in KME the results are already tangible, measurable and very positive! 16

17 Our mission in social responsibility Environmental protection KME has an ongoing commitment to the environment: not only has it instituted environmental policies for the group as a whole and its individual plants which are fully compliant with EU standards, but in recent years it has launched a number of concrete initiatives Oasi Dynamo KME s commitment to environmental protection has also taken an unusual turn: in 2006, on land belonging to the Group, in the heart of Tuscany, the Group created a vast nature reserve called Oasi Dynamo Dynamo Camp KME supports and hosts on its own property the first Italian branch of the international association Hole in the Wall Camps. The Dynamo Camp is a summer camp specifically designed for children affected by serious and chronic illnesses, whether in therapy or rehabilitation 17
