3 Renewable Energy Credits Compliance with Michigan s RPS is Renewable Energy Credit (REC) based One REC is created for every MWh (1 MWh = 1,000 kwh) of renewable energy generated 1 Megawatt-hour of renewable electricity 1 Renewable Energy Credit 1 Megawatt-hour of electricity Renewable Energy Credit can be sold separately from the electricity REC price will be market based. Michigan Incentive RECs: ie: Solar generation earns a total of 3 RECs for each MWh generated, Michigan Equipment and Labor, Energy Storage
