2 Nuclear Service Babcock Noell (BNG) is a reliable service and installation partner for all operators of nuclear power stations and nuclear engineering plants. Whether our customers require a new installation, modification of an existing installation, servicing or regular maintenance work - they have access to supervisors and installation engineers who are reliable and highly qualified in the nuclear service sector. Fast response times and high availability allow us to send out staff at extremely short notice. Our range of services include the following: Maintenance of components, for example containment locks for persons, material or emergency; reactor bulkheads; including spare parts supply or procurement. Provision of manpower during check and service for: Operation of cranes and hoists, repair, disassembly and reassembly of pumps, valves and fittings, machining in hot and cold workshop and pressure check of containments and systems. Coordination and execution of special transports Pool services with provision of manpower for exchange of spent fuel elements, operation of loading machine and transportation of fuel elements. With its nuclear services, BNG is able to provide complete services across the globe, from the planning stage right through to installation, and all from a single source.

3 Nuclear Technology Nuclear power plants BNG has more than 40 years of experience in the nuclear industry. With this know-how, we modernise existing plants, design and deliver components and systems for nuclear plants and power plants at home and abroad. Decommissioning and Dismantling BNG executes the decommissioning of nuclear plants as general contractor as well as part of a service package. Our considerable experience in this sector has been established on the back of numerous successfully implemented projects, e. g. the complete decommissioning of the nuclear power plant in Niederaichbach. Waste Treatment and Final Disposal The planning and delivery of nuclear waste treatment plants has been an important part of our product range for many years. Key projects, such as the pilot conditioning plant in Gorleben, the vitrification facility of the conditioning plant in Karlsruhe and the deposition machine for SKB in Sweden, are evidence of our wide-ranging knowledge.

4 Magnet Technology Within the fields of high-energy physics and fusion research, superconducting magnet systems are increasingly demanded. In close co-operation with major research centres, BNG has developed such systems and prepared them for series production. Therefore we can rely on a wide range of experience that enables us to work on customized solutions. Basic Research BNG has supplied key components for the particle accelerators HERA at DESY, Germany, and LHC at the European research centre CERN. Sophisticated projects of these types have formed the basis of our extensive expertise, which is now put into practice in the fields of engineering, manufacture and assembly of components for international research institutes. Fusion Research BNG is working in the area of research for energy production through nuclear fusion for many years now. We planned and supplied tools for the maintenance of the fusion experiment JET, as well as the modular coils for the fusion experiment Wendelstein 7-X and the planned fusion reactor ITER. The coils are needed to generate the strong magnetic field for plasma confinement. An outstanding project in this context is the series production of the 50 non-planar coils for the fusion experiment Wendelstein 7-X at Greifswald, Germany. With our experience, we are able to plan, manufacture and supply magnets and machine components for fusion technology.

5 Environment Technology With the separation of BNG from the Noell Group, we took over key experts with in-depth knowledge of the environment protection. Thus we are able to provide the complete range of knowledge, especially in the field of process engineering and in the design of flue gas cleaning components. We are currently able to supply a wide spectrum of products, from absorbers, tanks, waste and clean gas channels - including engineering, manufacturing and installation - right through to complete flue gas cleaning. And of course we can also customise a partial package of any of these services to suit your requirements. In order to reinforce our market position, particularly in Europe, we have agreed upon a strategic cooperation (licence) in the flue gas cleaning sector with the globally active company Babcock & Wilcox USA. This supplements the BNG product range in the flue gas cleaning sector with a proven and highly efficient single-loop desulphurization process. In the last 30 years, Babcock & Wilcox has equipped an approx. 60,000 MW plant capacity with flue gas desulphurization systems.
