Description Liquid Level Switches Liquiphant M type FTL 50 ( H )-., type FTL 51 ( H )-. and type FTL 51 C-. and Liquid Level Switches Liquiphant S type FTL 70-. and type FTL 71-. for use in explosive atmospheres caused by the presence of combustible gases, fluids or vapours, directly detect a liquid level by use of symmetrical vibrating fork and convert it intoan electrical signal. Depending on the applied electronics insert, the Liquid Level Transmitter provides a 2-wire ac switch ( electronic insert type FEL 51 ), a dc PNP switch ( electronic insert type FEL 52), an ac or dc supplied relay switch ( electronics insert type FEL 54 ), a 8/16 ma current output signal (electronics insert type FEL 55 ), a NAMUR signal,a NAMUR signal ( electronics insert type FEL 56 or type FEL 58, inverse signal ), a digital signal ( electronic insert type FEL 57 ) or a connection to a Fieldbus ( electronics insert type FEL 50A ) The Liquid Level Switches Liquiphant M and Liquiphant S are used for the measurement of the density or concentration of a process fluid, if provided with the electronic insert type FEL 50D and connected to the Endress + Hauser Interface type FML621. The electronic enclosures F13 and T13 are made of aluminium. The F13 is a one-chamber housing and only for the Ex d explosion protection. The T13 enclosure divided the enclosure in an electronic compartment in the type of protection flameproof enclosure d and the terminal compartment in the type of protection increased safety e or in the type of protection flameproof enclosure d. Depending on the version, the stainless steel sensor is mounted directly to the enclosure ( compact versions, type FTL 50 ( H ) and type FTL 70 ) or via an extension tube ( type FTL 51 ( H ), type FTL 51 C and type FTL 71 ). The process containing parts of Liquid Level Switch Liquiphant M type FTL 51 C-. are provided with a protective coating. 2. The relation between process temperature at the sensor and the temperature class is listed in the following table: Temperature class Process temperature ( sensor ) T6 85 C T5 100 C T4 135 C T3 150 C T2 300 C The maximum surface temperature of the enclosure T85 C is based on the maximum ambient temperature of 70 C. 5. Ingress protection IP66 to IEC Installation instructions: The manual provided with the equipment shall be followed in detail to assure safe operation. The cable entry devices for the Fluid Level Switch with T13-Housing in Ex de version shall be in type of protection increased safety e, suitable for the conditions of use and correctly installed. The closing elements of unused apertures shall be suitable for the conditions of use and correctly installed. Special conditions for safe use: The Level Limit Switch Liquiphant M type FTL 51 C. may only be used for group IIC, if dangerous discharges, due to electrostatic charging of the coated sensor surface is prevented. This shall be pointed out by the use of a warning. The sensors, coated with non-conductive plastic materials are suitable for use in gas group IIC only if electrostatic charging of the sensors is excluded.
