23 Standards
24 Standards Image supplied by Falck Safety Services Image supplied by Survivex have been setting standards for the oil and gas industry since 1991 when the organisation was set up to improve workforce safety and competency. Alongside our oil and gas industry stakeholders, we identify the needs and requirements for new and improved training standards for both the offshore and onshore oil and gas industry. We produce world class, industry driven standards that are recognised globally and we ensure that our approved training providers deliver training in compliance with these standards. Standards are developed by industry work groups, made up of oil and gas industry representatives, training providers and trade associations. These work groups drive the content of a standard, the purpose, aims and objectives, assessment criteria, training programme and instructor requirements. Working with our stakeholders throughout this process ensures that our standards are current, robust and relevant to the needs of Industry. We oversee the approved standards and our robust approval process ensures that training is delivered to the standard set and each individual is trained to the same level globally. Standards are reviewed regularly in partnership with the industry as we strive to improve safety and competency throughout the oil and gas industry. There are currently four types of standards: Emergency and Critical Response Standards Developed for survival and where competence is critical in emergency response situations. These standards include a variety of training programmes used by employees working on and travelling to and from offshore installations and vessels, and for competence in managing and supervising emergency response situations. Industry Training and Competence Standards We assist industry on the development of training and competence for safety critical roles including offshore crane operations, rigging and lifting, painting and blasting, permit to work, gas testing and elected offshore safety representatives. UK National Occupational Standards National Occupational Standards (NOS) are statements of the standards of performance individuals must achieve when carrying out functions in the workplace, together with specifications of the underpinning knowledge and understanding. Global Technical Standards Our Global Technical Standards support our Technical Qualifications framework. The disciplines catered for are processing operations hydrocarbons and three maintenance disciplines: electrical, mechanical and instrument and control. We offer a range of qualifications that can be delivered in the training centre via Global Training Standards and workplace environments via Global Occupational Standards.
