6 enneagram (plural enneagrams) (mathematics) A nine pointed stellate polygon (psychology) Such a figure used to indicate nine personality traits of a subject The Enneagram is one of the most efficient and human systems for reaching the compassion and leadership needed in business today" Michael Ray Professor, Stanford Business School "Based on philosophic traditions over 1000 years old, the Enneagram is a profound, elegant and multidimensional approach to people and their relationships. According to the Enneagram (pronounced any-a-gram), while each of us is unique, we all display certain personality traits and distinctive patterns of behavior that identify to the world which personality type or Enneagram number we are. The Enneagram shows us that we possess aspects of 9 personality types in varying degrees but will have one primary or dominant type which will cause us to view the world and interact with others from a particular predictable perspective. With awareness and understanding of how different personality types will behave in specific situations we can begin to lead ourselves and others more effectively. Your Enneagram Type can be tested online or in a workshop or training sessions questionnaire and may involve as little as 3 or up to 144 self assessed questions.
7 Difficult Personalities, especially toxic or negative employees are a universal challenge - they can complicate the workplace, drain your energy, derail your projects and even destroy your career. According to the ASTD* an individual will need between 7 and 9 training experiences of any skill or competency before mastering it. One of the most well known that explains the steps in any learning process is the conscious competency model that the [EDG] development theory is based upon. The path from pre Awareness or unconscious incompetence to unconscious competence or Mastery is travelled but not necessarily completed by all. The level of Ennea 9 and achievement of true Mastery will involve completion of courses in personality and behavior issues, skills and competency development and of course emotional intelligence. 16 The Enneagram in Business The Enneagram Model is the foundation and starting point on the Pathway to Success.
