It was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) human service organization in It is currently one of over 1,600 Catholic Charities USA social service agencies in the United States. Catholic Charities provides social services throughout a 10-county area with most of the services targeted to people living in Colorado Springs, Castle Rock, El Paso County and Douglas County. The agency is accredited by the Council on Accreditation and provides services to people of all races, backgrounds, and beliefs. Catholic Charities Provides Help and Creates Hope for people who are poor and vulnerable in our area through the efforts of a wide range of programs and services. Job Summary The Family Life Coach position will provide comprehensive case management services, including assessment, goal setting, case plans and necessary supports and services up to 20 families identified by Mitchell High School staff through the Siemer Institute for Family Stability program. The primary focus will be to serve families experiencing economic or family instability through a 2Gen strengthsbased model. 2 Catholic Charities of Central Colorado Job Description Family Life Coach Siemer Project Reports To: Director of Family Connections Department: Family Connections FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Salary Range: $30,794 - $35,676 Supervision: None Evaluation: First six months of employment and annually thereafter General Purpose The Family Life Coach provides comprehensive case management services, including assessment, goal setting, case plans and necessary supports and services up to 20 families identified by Mitchell High School staff through the Siemer Institute for Family Stability program. The primary focus will be to serve families experiencing economic or family instability through a 2Gen strengths-based model. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Engage and interview families for program enrollment and provide thorough intake/assessment process, needs assessment, offer case management services, and regular ongoing contacts to facilitate goal attainment and family stabilization. Manage a caseload of up to 20 families at a time. Administer biopsychosocial assessments, case plans, resource coordination and financial literacy education for all families on caseload. Maintain clear and effective case notes and files for all families receiving services according to COA standards and receive/review/retain all required documentation. Document and maintain thorough, accurate and reliable program statistics and reports as required. Liaise between CCCC, Siemer Institute, Mitchell High School, and strategic partner agencies, to coordinate quality services. Expectation to participate in trainings and remain current on homelessness, poverty, and related issues (networking, reading books/articles/blogs) and is required to attend annual conference. Responsible for CFSA 2.0 and ETO data entry for client management and AZ self-sufficiency scale. Assist with planning/scheduling/executing enrichment activities/mitchell HS community events. Participate regularly with Family Connections team/life Coaches in ongoing case conferencing. Track expenditures/revenues to comply with program budget. Position requires regular travel between sites Catholic Charities and Mitchell High School Education/Experience Bachelor s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, psychology or related field. Two years minimum of full-time experience working with direct client/family interaction. Knowledge of Human Services agencies in the area. 2

3 Skills & Competencies Case management skills and ability to define, collaborate, and facilitate attainment of stated goals. Knowledgeable and understanding of the 2Gen model, Trauma Informed Care principles/practices and Motivational interviewing, and/or will take initiative toward self-directed learning of those. Strong interpersonal skills with flexibility and adaptability. Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving/planning, mediation, and conflict resolution. Ability to work independently, but strong team player. Knowledge of social issues such as poverty, gender bias, domestic violence, substance abuse, etc. Enthusiasm for and commitment to the principle of helping others to help themselves. Sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic background of the children and families being served. Ability to establish, foster, and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of clients. Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow directions and interpret policies and procedures to ensure compliance, ability to prioritize projects and follow through. Requirements Valid driver s license and satisfactory driving record. Demonstrated self-starter and ability to work independently with little supervision. Ability and willingness to work within the established structure of Catholic Charities and the Family Connections Department. Ability to multitask and operate in a high volume, time sensitive, fast-paced environment. Analytical and creative mind with the ability to work efficiently, effectively, and multitask in a fastpaced environment. Demonstrated ability to apply culturally appropriate skills in interactions with clients, co-workers, volunteers, partner agencies, and other community members. Excellent communication (verbal and written), problem solving, listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form and maintain positive work relationships. Periodic evenings and weekends are required to accommodate family schedules, meetings, and special events. Work ethic that exemplifies professionalism, enthusiasm, teamwork and self-motivation. Strong organizational and verbal/written bilingual - Spanish/English communication skills required. Teachable/learner s stance, trustworthy, honest and perceptive. Maintain annual budget and complete required grant reporting. Understanding of and compliance to confidentiality related to information and documents. Good computer skills including word processing and ability to quickly learn database management system. Background clearance required. Work Environment A majority of the assigned duties are performed in an office environment with local travel around Colorado Springs/El Paso County area and regular travel between Mitchell High School and Catholic Charities will be required.
