(for example financial, legislative or other) POL:05:VP001:03:NIBT NIBTS Validation Policy POL:05:VP002:04:NIBT NIBTS Validation Master Plan SOP:VL:001 SOP:VL:027 n-it Validation Procedure Validation Risk Assessment These documents set out that NIBTS undertakes to provide documented evidence to support the assertion that all critical and quality impacting facilities, systems, equipment, processes, environment, services, cleaning, software and test procedures will be/ are validated and will be maintained in that validated state using a risk based approach. How this is to be achieved, the key responsibilities, aims and objectives and what is to be validated are all provided within the documents. The key constraints are MHRA requirements, regulations and staff availability Page 1 of 11

Gender This policy applies to all 227 employees of the Agency, of which 72 are male, and 155 are female. The Agency will at all times give consideration to treating people differently if their needs require it. Age Religion This policy applies to all 227 employees of the Agency. The Agency will at all times give consideration to treating people differently if their needs require it. 42% of employees are under the age of 45 and 52% are over the age of 45. Of the 72 males employed, 35 are Protestant, 34 are Catholic and 3 are not determined. Of the 155 females employed 73 are Protestant, 74 are Catholic and 8 are not determined. This policy applies to all 227 employees of the Agency. 5 2.4 Multiple Identities rthern Ireland Are there any potential impacts of the policy or decision on people with multiple identities? For example; disabled minority ethnic people; disabled women; young Protestant men; and young lesbians, gay and bisexual people. I cannot identify anything additional to that already considered above, however as stated previously the Agency will at all times give consideration to treating people differently if their needs require it. 2.5 Making Changes Based on the equality issues you identified in 2.2 and 2.3, what changes did you make or do you intend to make in relation to the policy or decision in order to promote equality of opportunity? In developing the policy or decision what did you do or change to address the equality issues you identified? The policies were considered and discussed with Head of Department and HR to identify those area that need further consideration; Validation requires ICT skills to work on documents on the NIBTS document control system. What do you intend to do in future to address the equality issues you identified? It is important not to assume that everyone has the same level of knowledge and confidence when using ICT systems or ICT systems that are new to them. Additional assistance will be given Page 5 of 11
