5 My Background Louis D. Greifenstein, CFP Senior Portfolio Management Director Senior Vice President Financial Advisor For over 20 years, I have been relentlessly pursuing the title of trusted advisor for all of my clients. Teaching, learning, explaining, helping, listening, counseling, guiding and serving are a few of the many things that drew me to this business; along with my entrepreneurial spirit and passion for financial planning. I often explain to my clients that what I do is not a job, but a way of life; and I don t collect clients, I build relationships. Every bond with a client begins with a meeting of the hearts before there can be a meeting of the minds and I insist on maintaining a true, personal connection with every client. In this area of my life, the best use of my time is with clients, either in person or on the phone, by their side to help them make sound financial decisions; and it is my belief that a stronger personal, trusting relationship fosters better Financial Planning. Lastly, I remind my clients with every opportunity that I am aware of the choices they have and that I need to continue to earn their business every day. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER practitioner my primary focus is comprehensive financial planning; and as a registered investment advisor within the Portfolio Management Group, I manage discretionary portfolios to help implement those plans. My investment philosophy is based entirely on the principles of Modern Portfolio Theory. I currently hold the FINRA Series 7, 31, 63 and 65 (Investment Advisor) securities licenses, as well as the Life, Variable Life, Health and Long-Term Care Insurance certifications. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University Cum Laude and a Certificate in Business Studies from Indiana University. Arlington Heights, Illinois, is where I reside with my wife Donna and daughters Lily, Ella, Ava, Charlotte and Lucy. While overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office, Lynn sees to it that things are being addressed and completed in a timely and efficient manner. Rightfully, she takes great pride in her proactive approach of getting things done for clients and makes every attempt to exceed their expectations. Lynn brings a great deal of experience to her role and it shows on a daily basis. When not in the office, Lynn enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Kelley Belmonte (right) is the first point of contact for all client requests, operations, and scheduling. Kelley s sincere, caring demeanor is clearly conveyed with every phone call; and her conscientious personality ensures empathy with every client interaction. Kelley has been honing her skills for almost 4 years in the industry. When not assisting clients, Kelley enjoys swimming, biking, working outside, and spending time with her family. LOUIS D. 9 Creating Your Itinerary The Financial Journey of Your Life Discovery I begin by understanding the individual client, what and who are most important to them in life, what they value most. Together, we formulate their evolving needs with respect to life, family, personal aspirations; financial needs and investment goals. Expectations for a successful financial relationship are defined and risk and reward tolerances and personal investor style are measured. These discoveries are made through the comprehensive financial planning process. Analysis I evaluate various strategies that could be employed to help meet the client s goals and objectives attempting to reduce financial anxiety and increase predictability. This includes assessing where the client is and where they need to be. Solutions The most suitable combination of investments is selected to help meet the client s goals and objectives, as dictated by their comprehensive financial plan. Depending on a client s age and/or wealth, the defined standard of care is selected. Implementation The structure of the accounts is decided, all of the provided services are established, and the correct standard of care is engaged. Commitment This integral part of the process is when I commit to the client and they commit to me. My Value Added Client Services philosophy outlines in writing what services I will be providing, how I will provide them and how often. 11 My Philosophy Together, we will explore a broad range of personal topics that are likely to influence the vision of your financial future from your family situation to your career aspirations, and from education expenses to your retirement and beyond. We will bring to the forefront what you hold dear in life, what you value most; that is why I refer to what I do as values based planning. What we learn will become the foundation for a financial and investment strategy based on who you are and where you want to go. We will use this vision to implement the details of your plan much the way one refers to the cover of the box when assembling a jigsaw puzzle. But that s just the beginning. Over time, we will revise your plan to reflect new aspirations and priorities, helping your plan keep pace as the markets change and your life unfolds. As an individual ages and/or their wealth increases, financial planning needs evolve. It is often unclear what services should be expected from a financial advisor and when; for that reason, I implement a clearly defined standard of care. Similar to your relationship with your primary care physician, our engagement will evolve and expand over time. As you enter a new stage of life, you also require a new standard of care. To set out on your financial journey, without a comprehensive financial plan that implements predetermined standards of care, is like running a marathon and not knowing where or how far the finish line is! I relentlessly strive to become a trusted advisor to my clients with every intention of working for them for the rest of their lives.
