4 CHAIRMAN STATEMENT KSP, since its establishment, has considered healthcare as a major factor in people's well being. We strive to introduce new technological & industrial breakthroughs to Kuwait, to catch up with the more advanced countries in the medical field. Today, developed countries compete intensely in developing the most technologically advanced devices, medicines and products in the pharmaceutical field, which poses a great challenge to existing commercial and scientific conglomerates. 7 ABOUT US Over the years, KUWAIT SAUDI PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRIES COMPANY (KSP) has passed several milestones in its journey towards becoming a successful major player in the pharmaceutical industry providing quality medicines at more affordable prices. KSP is a leading pharmaceutical company specializing in the development, manufacturing and marketing of pharmaceutical products. It was established in the early eighties as "KPICO" with the support of Swedish Astra Company and operated under its guidance until The ownership of the company transferred in 1994 to a Kuwait Saudi joint venture and thus the company was renamed to the Kuwait Saudi Parmaceutical Industries Company (KSPICO). Currently, KSPICO is owned by Kuwaiti stockholders. With the support of the German firm PharmaPlan GmbH- Germany some facilites in 1994 were rehabilitated and refurbished with three new production lines including: Large Volume Parenterals for Intravenous Solutions and Dialysis Solutions in contract with M/S Fresenius AG - Germany Oral Solids line by IMA - Italy Oral Liquid line by Bosch - Germany The founder and chairman of KSP is "Dr. Abdul Rahman Abdullah Al- Awadi", a well-known international figure being a former Minister of Health, Planning and Cabinet Affairs for more than 20 years in the State of Kuwait. 7

8 OUR PRODUCTS KSP is a pioneer in the field of Large Volume Parenterals in the Middle East and still enjoys that leadership. The Company has developed solid business relationships with leading healthcare institutions in both public and private sectors in several countries. Today, KSP manufactures a large range of pharmaceutical products serving the markets of Kuwait, Gulf States, Middle East and some African countries with a growing portfolio of more than 225 uptill now registered products. The range of dosage forms manufactured at KSP includes Oral Solids (Tablets, Capsules), Oral Liquids (Syrups, Suspensions) and Large Volume Parenterals which include Haemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Suppositories, Creams and Ointments. The current production lines include: Large Volume Parenterals for Intravenous Solutions, Concentrated Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Solutions Under Licensing agreement with Fresenius AG Oral Solids line by IMA Oral Liquid line by Bosch Creams and Ointments Suppositories At KSP, our qualified and professional team is capable of preparing technical dossiers as per the requirements of various regulatory bodies in the Middle Eastern and African countries, besides Kuwait. The line was completed and validated by PharmaPlan (Germany) where production commenced in November Products are manufactured under a continuously controlled, hygienically monitored environment and in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cgmp) and World Health Organization (WHO) standards. In order to meet the increasing demand for intravenous products, KSPICO plans to add advanced aseptic filling machines and additional autoclaves to meet the future demand for these vital and life-saving products. The current Installed annual capacity is around 12 Million units. ORAL SOLIDS LINE In October 1997, the company accomplished the second part of the plan with the installation, commissioning and validation of the Oral Solid Line. The current installed annual capacity is around 1.8 billion Tablets/Capsules. We have recently increased the potential capacity in the Packaging area and are proceeding to full automation with high tech blister machines. ORAL LIQUID LINE The end of 1998 saw the completion of the third part of the plan with the operation of the Oral Liquid (Syrup & Suspension) Line. The modern facilities include automated and high-capacity machines, from Bosch, Germany, with installed annual capacity of 30 Million bottles for different formulations of Syrup and Suspension. SUPPOSITORY LINE 2012 is a defining year for KSPICO as the company ventures forth in producing it's own line of suppository products, supported by production machines that are capable of producing 24 million suppositories annually. CREAMS & OINTMENTS LINE In 2012, KSPICO has also invested in facilities and machines for producing Creams and Ointments with an estimated production capacity of 9.6 million units annually. 9

10 PLANT KSP has a well-designed and immaculately maintained manufacturing plant. Our facility is equipped with machineries and instruments required for manufacturing by international standards of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cgmp). The KSP site is located in the industrial area of Subhan, which is about 5 minutes from Kuwait International Airport and 15 minutes from the Heart of Kuwait City. The company at present is spread over 60,000 Sq.meters. comprising building area of about 18,000 Sq.meters. The state-of-the-art technologies coupled with highly qualified and experienced professionals have well positioned KSP to achieve a sustainable growth in the local and export markets. KSP`s main Technology is supported by: R.Bosch GmbH IMA Uhlmann Rommelag CONTRACT MANUFACTURING We believe that contract manufacturing is a key element in the company's growth strategies. KSP currently has a Toll Manufacturing Contract for Swiss Mepha Pharmaceuticals. 10

The main Quality activities include: Continuous validation programs for processes and calibration of machines and equipments. Regular training for employees on cgmp requirements. Regular internal auditing of manufacturing facilities to assure their compliance to cgmp. Maintaining comprehensive documentation system. Implementation of post marketing monitoring, in order to check the quality and stability of products in the market. Strict control on monitoring environment activities. At quality control laboratories, we strictly ensure that the ultimate products consistently meet established standards for identity, purity, quality, efficiency and safety.
