6 APR12 is such a versatile system that it is suitable for small-medium and large installations. It is produced in three versions: Light L, Medium M and Heavy P, each of which is different, due to the use of high resistance certified structural steel strips of varying thickness. This ensures solutions to a vast range of needs, thanks to the possibility to adjust the load capacity of the frames, guaranteeing an excellent combination between technical performance and economic benefits. The components of the APR12 system are available in different surface finishes: painted, galvanised. The special design of the uprights enables to use all the beams on any type of frame. The completeness of the available solutions (without even considering the non standard sizes that can be sometimes realized) makes it extremely difficult to find a problem in Industrial Racking which we could not resolve in the best of ways with APR12 system. 8 The connection between uprights and beams forms one of the most important technical elements in a racking unit. Armes solution guarantees the best compromise amongst stability, rigidity, flexibility, safety and ease of assembly. Its efficiency widely increases the connection coefficient and so it optimizes the overall hold. The innovative brackets with 4 or 5 hooks are equal for all upright types and vary only depending on the beams section. The lugs, fashioned on the front face of the brackets by means of a drawing process, are oriented in an opposite way and therefore they work either under traction PALLET RACKING CONNECTION 6

9 or under compression. Floor fixing is also of great structural significance and is achieved by the use of specially designed foot-plates and specific expansion bolts. Moreover, if the floor is uneven, a complete range of shims are available to ensure absolute accuracy. THE VITAL 7

10 Besides having different sections for each type and thickness (L, M, P) APR12 uprights are available in a wide range of sizes. They are manufactured in a single piece up to 12 m, while special joints make it possible to reach lengths exceeding 20 m, maintaining the same hole pitch. Further special joints enable racking using upright variable-sections, to make full use of material, cutting weight and costs when the load capacity of a homogeneous section is excessive. 12 The APR12 system is also equipped with a large number of accessories, specifically designed according to the nature and type of materials being stored, enabling the solution to any type of need connected to any kind of material storage. As illustrated, it is possible to choose from a great deal of different types and sizes of drop-in galvanised plates, load-stop barriers, two types of intermediate support bars, tubular dividers and drum-carrier frames. 14 To create a perfect warehouse storage system, APR12 Pallet Racking offers a very wide choice of additional components, needed for organising, marking, movement protection between racks, connection and wall fixing. Here are then heading buffers, upright buffers, forklift guides, spacers between frames and for wall connection, protection wire meshes and linear load-stop barriers. 16 Very large and composed the range of available APR12 frames. The system's strong point lies however in its performance, achieved through its unique design concept: e.g., its uprights boast a high performance in relation to the development of the metal sheet utilised. Consequently, the frames can withstand considerable load capacities, as outlined in the diagrams, showing performances obtained with structural type steel (in exceptional cases, even higher tensile steel may be used). 19 The APR12 system offers such a wide choice of beams, as to satisfy all demands, either functional or of load capacity. Although brief, this description of the main beam types helps to make clear the performance according to profile type, section size and overall beam length. Here listed are the maximum load capacities for pair of beams (uniformly distributed load) expressed in knewton (1 kn 100 kg). The load capacities have been calculated as per ACAI-CISI and F.E.M. (Fédération Européenne de la Manutention) norms. 20 APR12 Pallet Racking Storage System consists of a body of frames, connected by horizontal beams, allowing storage on vertical loading levels. The groups of racks are separated by aisles of varying sizes, according to specific requirements. This is the simplest and most widespread application of the APR12 system. Thanks to the use of special beams and galvanised plates creating "loading levels, the APR12 Pallet Racking Storage System is also able to operate manually (picking) storage of different load units such as boxes, crates, containers, etc. APR12 PALLET RACKIN STORAGE SYSTEM 18
