2 About us SMB Schwede Maschinenbau is one of the leading manufacturers of high-performance strapping machinery using narrow plastic strap. 3 The history of innovation and quality (1) 1965 Foundation of the predecessor of today s SMB Schwede Maschinenbau GmbH by Mr Horst Schwede 1972 The first strapping machine of SMB s own development is delivered: a fully automatic machine for newspaper industry 1987 Foundation of SMB Schwede Maschinenbau GmbH, specializing in strapping technology 1991 Move to new company premises in Goldkronach 1996 SMB receives Innovation Award of Eastern Bavarian Technology Transfer Institute e. V. Continuous technological enhancement and development of a modular product range for applications in various industries, for example the ceramic industry.

6 Facts that set standards Maintenance requirements: Under normal operating conditions, the first maintenance routine at the SMB sealing head is required after 2,000,000 strap cycles (standard machines) or ( machines 3,000,000 strap cycles (fully automatic Machine life cycle: In the US probably the world's toughest market many SMB machines are still operating, altough they have run for more than 35,000,000 strap cycles - and they are still working faultlessly.
