7 LAMB LEAP SUITE The X-Ray Primal System creates a 3D map of the bones within the carcass. This is used to guide the primal cutter with an accuracy far greater than human capabilities. The x-ray data is also provided to all downstream boning room modules. The X-Ray System provides the correct height and angle measurements for each cut. This provides a precise cut location at the correct angle and the dual rotating knife blades ensure a cleaner, more accurate cut. 8 LEAP SUITE The Forequarter System automates the process of cutting lamb forequarters. The system delivers improved yield and excellent cut quality. It also minimises waste and eliminates dangerous bandsaw tasks.

31 GENERAL AUTOMATION FOR THE MEAT INDUSTRY AGV Development AGV stands for Automated Guided Vehicle. It is a driverless vehicle used to transport goods and materials in a range of different applications. Scott Automation and Robotics is using AGVs to replace complex conveyor systems. In the past we built a range of different conveying systems (eg Shuttle cars) to transport goods around factories and in between robot cells. We are now using AGVs to offer greater simplicity and flexibility to complicated conveying tasks. We are also using an AGV for automated container loading. This automated vehicle performs driving a course repeatedly with safety and a higher system uptime than human drivers. Safety of AGVs is accomplished through careful selection of industry proven safety components including laser scanners, speed sensors and programmable safety controllers.
