3 Product Packaging Attributes and Code Values This document describes fields in both the Stewardship (Packaging) section in the ProSYNC Product Information page and in the Microsoft Excel ProSYNC stewardship spreadsheet template. The field names appear in order as they appear in the Excel spreadsheet. For each package, you can specify up to eight components. For example, a bottle of water has three components: bottle, closure (cap) and label. Attributes List No. Field Name Type Required Description and Values 1 Packaging Material Effective Date Date (mm/dd/yyyy) Yes The effective date when the packaging materials for a product are made available. That is, the date when the product with new specifications is being shipped to data recipients. 2 Component Name Dropdown list Yes Identifies the packaging component. Integer between 0 and 100. Numeric Optional The material amount discarded by consumers after a product is consumed. The post consumer content usually ends up in waste receptacles and landfills. Integer between 0 and Coating Type Drop-down list Yes Specifies whether the material for the packaging component is coated, and the type of coating applied. For example, a 6-pack of granola bars has 6 individual wraps. Integer value. 9 Individual Component Material Weight 10 Total Component Material Weight 11 Material Weight UOM Numeric Yes The weight for each component. Numeric value with up to 5 decimal points. Numeric Yes Sum total weight for all packaging components. This calculated value appears only in data recipient reports. It does not appear in either the Stewardship (Packaging) section nor on the Excel spreadsheet. Drop-down list Yes This value is applicable for both Individual Component Material Weight and Total Component Weight. Kilogram Gram 12 Date Created Date (mm/dd/yyyy) 13 Date Updated Date (mm/dd/yyyy) Yes Yes The date and time that the stewardship record was created. Applies to each of the product s packaging components. Because this value is calculated, the field does not appear on the spreadsheet. The date and time that the stewardship record was updated. Updates are considered to be corrections to the data. This field applies to each of the product s packaging components.
