MARKS:40 Q # 1 In a brass factory, the standard mixture consists of 60% of copper and 40% of zinc; the 08 (A) standard loss of production is 30%. Standard mixture and yield are Copper 60 Rs. 5 per kg. Zinc 40 Rs. I 0 per kg. Standard Yield 70 Kg The actual mixtures and yield are Copper 80 Rs per kg. Zinc 70 Rs. 8 per kg. Actual Yield 115 kg. Calculate Mi x Variance, Price Variance and Yield Variance. (B) Critically evaluate the role of standard costing in cost control and reduction. Q # 2 X and Y are two similar plants under the same ownership and the owners wish to merge 08 these two for the purpose of better operation. The details are furnished below.
