1 Ready, Set, Go Challenge Frequently Asked Questions What is the Aetna Health Connections Get Active! program? Aetna Health Connections Get Active! is a fun online wellness program that enables you to set healthy goals, engage in challenges, and track results along the way. With Aetna Health Connections Get Active!, you can form teams with your co-workers and engage in healthy, friendly competitions while supporting and encouraging one another on the path to improved health. Why should I participate? Enjoy the satisfaction of setting and achieving your personal health goals while teaming up with your co-workers to engage in fun challenges that reward you with good health. What are the team challenges, and how do they work? After registering for the program, team challenges in which you can participate will be offered. To join a team, you must first connect with a team captain, or find a team using the online Team Building Forum. Then you simply select in which division(s) you would like to participate. If at least five people on your team choose to participate in a division, then your team will be included in the company-wide team standings in that division. How many people can be on a team? You can have 5-11 people on each team, including the team captain. What if I can t find four other people who want to participate on my team? Encourage them personally! Also, you can connect with colleagues who are interested in joining by using the online Team Building Forum available through: How are team standings calculated? Team results are calculated based on the average values entered by all team members competing in a division, not the total amount for your team. So it is important to motivate your team members! Your weight is not shared with anyone. We know this can be a sensitive topic, so be assured that your privacy will be protected. Do I need a computer to participate? Only a team captain requires access to a computer to enter results for his or her team, if needed. If you do not have access to a computer, ask a team captain to sign you up and log your results online at the end of each round. You can also sign up and submit your results by calling our support telephone line ( ) or by sending a text message. What are the responsibilities of the team captain? Being a team captain is easier than you may think! Chief responsibilities are to recruit the team, help motivate them, and encourage them to report results on time, or in some cases, to enter their results for them. Can I change in which challenge divisions I participate? You can change divisions only until the end of the first round of the challenge. You can use the online system or call the support line: You cannot change division selections after the first round. How do I report my progress? You can track your progress by using the printed logbook contained in your welcome kit, and then enter your results online. You can enter results online daily or at the end of each challenge round, if you are participating in a challenge. At the conclusion of each round of a challenge, we will send you an reminder to log in to the system and update your progress. If you wish, you may give your log sheet to your team captain to enter on your behalf, or you can send a text message or call the support line at to report your progress. If I enter the weight loss division and I do not have access to a computer, do I need to report my weight to my team captain? No. You can enter your weight by calling our support line if you do not have access to a computer. Team captains will know your weight only if you decide to share it with them. What counts as exercise? Exercise is defined as moderately intense activity which means any activity in which you are increasing your heart rate and breaking a sweat. Examples include brisk walking, jogging, spinning, running, swimming, weight lifting and other sports. Can I wear my pedometer while I am exercising? Any steps that you track on your pedometer count toward your total pedometer steps, even if you are also counting that time toward your exercise minutes total. So when you are walking or running on the treadmill at the gym, make sure to wear your pedometer. When are team challenge standings published? Updated team challenge standings are published at the end of each round. Team standings do not change between rounds. If I set personal goals online, does that affect my standing in the challenge? No. Goal setting is designed to help you succeed in the program. Your personal goals will have no impact on your team s standing.

3 Four ways to track your progress OPTION 1 : Online Simply log in to the platform, click the Tracking tab, and enter in your results! Quick and easy. You may track daily or weekly. Welcome

4 1 OPTION 2 : Text Message If you have a mobile phone with text messaging capabilities, you can track your progress on the go, wherever you are! Here s how it works: Register for text messaging by signing in to the platform and clicking on Settings in the upper right corner of your screen. Provide your cell phone number in order to enable text message reporting. 2 Each day, you will receive a text message between AM ET reminding you to input your results from the previous day. The message will contain a list of all your tracking categories. 3 Simply respond with your progress! Results for separate categories must be entered in the order of the numbered list you re sent, and all values must be separated with either a space or a comma. You do not need to wait for the reminder, though! Text MENU at any time to receive a list of your tracking categories and to enter results.

5 OPTION 3 : Mobile Web If you have a web-enabled mobile phone, you may track your results from your phone.navigate to the platform website, just as you would on a computer, sign in, and enter your results. Nice and simple.

6 OPTION 4 : Through Your Team Captain If you don t have daily or weekly access to a computer, your team captain can report your activities for you. Make note of your activities in the logbook provided to you, and then hand it over to your team captain, who can enter in your activities on your behalf. YOU: I walked 82,345 steps and worked out for a total for 135 minutes last week. Here s my logbook. Could you please submit my results? TEAM CAPTAIN: Wow great job!
