FLEX PROPERTIES Redco Polyurethane offers exceptional strength and toughness that will resists cracking under repeated flexure despite any cuts or nicks. CONTROLLABLE REBOUND, OR RESILIENCE Unlike rubber, Redco Polyurethane is available with a very wide range of resilience and a variety of harnesses. Typical applications include shock pads, draft gear and load springs, metal forming pads and machine mounts. CO-EFFICIENT OF FRICTION High-hardness compounds have the lowest co-efficient of friction, and are available in formulations having values as low as 0.2. Such formulations are widely used where there is a need for impact resistance including; bushings, bearings, and wear strips. LOW TEMPERATURE PROPERTIES Even in cold temperature applications Redco Polyurethane remains remarkably flexible, resulting in an ideal material for cold climates with outdoor applications for railway, aircraft, oil field and mining equipment. HEAT RESISTANCE Redco Polyurethane can be used for dry intermittent high temperature applications to a maximum of 250ºF. WATER RESISTANCE Redco Polyurethane is very resistant to the swelling and deteriorating effects of water, with absorption in the range of.3 to 1% of weight however volume-swell is negligible. Due to its low absorption properties, it can operate at close tolerance without the fear of seizure. Redco Polyurethane will perform very well in long term water immersion up to 120ºF; however, continuous hot water applications over 175ºF are not recommended.

9 ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES Redco Polyurethane has excellent insulating properties and is used in many potting and encapsulating applications. OXYGEN AND OZONE RESISTANCE Results from numerous tests have proven Redco Polyurethane to be virtually immune to several hundred hours of attack by normal atmospheric concentrations resulting in successful applications around electrical equipment, without hardening and cracking. MOLD, MILDEW, FUNGUS RESISTANCE Redco Polyurethane is highly resistant to fungus, mold and mildew growth, bringing solutions to tropical and humid climates. FLAME RESISTANCE Many standard formulas of Redco Polyurethane have been tested in accordance to ASTM D-635 and are self-extinguishing. Special compounds are also available in cases where a completely non-burning material is required. MACHINABILITY Harder urethane compounds can be machined, drilled and tapped. Softer urethanes can be ground; offering an endless list of applications and products with a variety of specialized tolerances and esthetics. BONDING TO OTHER MATERIALS During initial molding process and under controlled conditions, Redco Polyurethanes can be bonded to a wide variety of materials. High-strength bonds can be obtained to most metals (plates, rolls, inserts), wood and many plastics including PVC, Nylon and PTFE with bond strengths that often exceed the tear strength of the urethane itself. These bond strengths also frequently exceed the bond of rubber-to-substrate by several times.
