NESTLE CANADA INC. TOXIC SUBSTANCE REDUCTION PLAN SUMMARY 2012 Operations Phase II Substances PARTICULATE MATTER <= 10 MICRONS (PM 10 ) PARTICULATE MATTER <= 2.5 MICRONS (PM 2.5 ) Submitted to: Brand Barber Manager, Engineering Services 980 Wilton Grove Road London, Ontario N6A 6C5 Submitted by: AMEC Americas Limited 900 Maple Grove Road, Unit 10 Cambridge, ON N3H 4R7 Date December 19, 2013 Project Number TR1213041

TOXIC REDUCTION POLICY STATEMENT OF INTENT Nestle is committed to protecting the environment. Wherever feasible, we will eliminate the discharge of PM10 and PM2.5 in full compliance with all federal and provincial regulations. Our employees are encouraged to participate in all types of reduction activities. The toxic substances associated with Nestle operations are associated with the production support and are not ingredients in the products. Reducing the discharge and disposal of these toxic substances will be an ongoing consideration at Nestle, in addition to being environmentally responsible it also indicates improved efficiencies in our processing operations. Options that are both technologically and economically viable will be implemented at our facility. REDUCTION OBJECTIVES Nestlé is committed to environmental sustainability in its productions and products. These objectives and behaviours are encapsulated in the simple phrase, Good Food, Good Life, a phrase that sums up our corporate ambition. Nestle delivers this ambition through the concept of Creating Shared Value where compliance with all applicable legal requirements and the Nestle Corporate Business Principles is incorporated with the principle of sustainable development and embedded in our activities, brands and products. Nestle is committed to: - full compliance with all applicable legal environmental requirements and our internal requirements where specific environmental legislation is non-existent or insufficient; - the continual improvement of the environmental performance of our activities, products and services and prevention of pollution through the Nestle Environmental Management System (NEMS) which complies with the international ISO 14001 standard; - the systematic assessment and optimisation of environmental impacts in the design of new and renovated products; - the responsible sourcing of ingredients, packaging materials and other goods and services from suppliers who comply with the Nestle Supplier Code and demonstrate continual improvement of their environmental performance. Manufacturing practices to reduce the occurrence of off-specification production as well as maximizing reformulation or recycling, as well as minimizing spill potentials and emissions to the environment are not only core to environmental sustainability but also key factors to remaining a financially viable operation. The toxic compound identified and evaluated in Phase II Toxic Reduction requirements (PM10 and PM2.5) are created by supporting operations involved in the manufacturing of frozen food products. At this point there are no other technologically and economically feasible options which can be implemented that would reduce the creation of PM10 and PM2.5 at the facility. Therefore, Nestle will continue to create particulate matter, but will continue to research other options as they become available. PLAN SUMMARY STATEMENT This plan summary accurately reflects the content of the toxic substance reduction plan for PM10 and PM2.5, prepared on behalf of, dated 19 December 2013.
