UNITS Task Force Fernetti S.p.A. - Terminal Operator Intermodal Terminal of Trieste Fernetti S.p.A Located on the border between Italy and Slovenia, 18 km from the port of Trieste, along the Multimodal Corridor No. 5 connecting Barcelona to Kiev. It represents an inland platform for the Port of Trieste, to which is connected both by motorway and railway.

UNITS Task Force Research Institutes Polytechnic University of Bari ICOOR According to the report SIR 2013 World Report, about the quality of scientific research produced, the Polytechnic University of Bari have a normalized impact factor of 2.03, which is the highest among the Italian public universities. Company specialized in supervising and stevedoring, container control and terminal operations. The Samer group is operative, with their own agencies, in the Italian ports of Monfalcone, Porto Nogaro, Ravenna, as well as in the Slovenian port of Koper, the Croatian port of Rijeka, the Montenegro Port of Bar, the Serbian port of Belgrade and the Albanian port of Durres.

UNITS Task Force Spreading excellence and widening participation: Port Authority of Trieste Port Authority of Trieste The Port Authority has the primary task of directing, planning, coordinating, promoting and controlling port operations and other commercial and industrial activities in the port. The role of the Trieste Port Authority will be an active in monitoring and assessing feasibility of the 5 CO-GISTICS services, especially to establishing a legal framework and promoting further standardisation.

Spreading excellence and widening participation: Autovievenete S.p.A. Autovie Venete S.p.A. The managing Company of motorway routes A4 Venice-Trieste, A23 Palmanova-Udine South, A28 Portogruaro-Pordenone-Conegliano, A57 ringroad of Mestre and A34 Villesse- Gorizia. The firts motorway company in Italy to have signed an international agreement protocol for the management of the emergencies on the motorway (together with Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary). The implications of Autovie Venete in the CO-GISTICS project will be focused on cooperative adaptive route control definition and on long distance trucks traffic flow management.

UNITS Task Force Understanding information sharing in logistics and transport: Trieste Pilot site perspectives The objectives and related expected impacts of the UNITS task force are: - to identify best deployment of the 5 CO-GISTICS ITS services and applications which will be used as a basis for industry consultation and to identify necessary enabling technology/technologies. - to guide, coordinate and monitor the progress of the development and implementation and standardisation of ITS solutions for freight transport and logistics in the Trieste Pilot site as well as in the European transportation system to ensure a timely, effective and harmonised deployment of those services.

UNITS Task Force - to implement a Decision Support System devote to optimize the Trieste Pilot roadmap configuration on ITS for multimodal freight transport and logistics and develop further the UNITS-ERTICO partnership work plan on this topic. - identify the enablers for the implementation of the 5 CO-GISTICS services divided into the following five areas in conjunction and coordination with all the partners and relevant stakeholders: 1. Interoperability (Standardisation and Testing); 2. Policy (Privacy and Liability); 3. Information (Data access and Service access); 1. Financing (Procurement and Cost-benefit); 1. Final User usage (Acceptance and Awareness).

The Decision Support System (DSS) devoted to simultaneously optimize and solve the Trieste Pilot Site multimodal logistics network configuration problem and operations Equipment THE DSS AND THE RELATED CO-GISTICS SERVICES 1. Intelligent truck parking 1. Priority and speed advice; 1. Multimodal cargo; 1. CO2 footprint estimation and monitoring; 1. Eco-drive support.
