WHEREAS climate change is a matter of global concern which threatens the wellbeing of the earth; AND WHEREAS small island states and coastal states are especially susceptible to the impact of climate change; AND WHEREAS the Caribbean region has recently experienced heavy rainfall and devastating hurricanes and Trinidad and Tobago experienced heavy rainfall that led to widespread flooding; BE IT RESOLVED that this House agree that the Government develop a holistic national response to climate change inclusive of solutions to perennial flooding in Trinidad and Tobago.
