Touch Football is a sport that is thrilling, enjoyable and accessible to all. TFA is responsible for the overall leadership, management, administration and development of Touch Football across the nation. This is conducted through a unique management model where there are states under direct control of this body and core partnerships with the states of New South Wales and Queensland. Primary Purpose of the Role The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for managing TFA s marketing, media and communication strategies, to increase the profile of the sport and to drive fan and participant engagement across the country. The role will support and help deliver on the significant strategic opportunities in profile, branding and commercial upside presented by TFA s alliance with the NRL.

Job Responsibilities Media and Communications» Develop in consultation with Head of Commercial and the NRL Marketing and Communications Unit the TFA Media and Communications plan, fully leveraging the NRL alliance to drive participation, commercial opportunity and profile for the sport.» Research and write media releases, briefing papers, speeches, scripts for content production, TFA publications and commercial collateral.» Develop strong relationships with all key media, including regional and metropolitan, to maximise coverage and awareness of TFA and its programs and competitions.» Proactively secure national and international exposure for major events through metropolitan and regional media.» Monitor print and online media, including social networking sites, forums and blogs and provide reporting.» Implement and manage communications planning with key stakeholders in interstate and international target markets.» Manage internal communication processes including communication with all TFA staff, federated members, SOAP s and other related TFA stakeholders.» Continue to grow the national database of media contacts in regional areas for national, international and other events. Marketing» In consultation with the senior management and NRL Marketing and Communications unit develop, implement and execute whole of sports annual marketing plan.» Oversee the production of all marketing and promotional collateral including advertisements, e-newsletters, websites, publications, and other printed and electronic collateral.» Ensure TFA is meeting its marketing and communications obligations to event stakeholders and conversely ensure all event stakeholders are meeting their obligations, as detailed in relevant contracts and agreements.» Manage and coordinate marketing and creative staff, lead market research efforts, and liaising with media organisations and advertising agencies.» Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of marketing, branding and communication best practice, especially where relevant to sport and ensure that this knowledge and expertise is effectively deployed.» Manage online commercial deliverables and opportunities for TFA sponsorship team.» Develop and manage overarching brand, community and fan engagement strategies» Deliver the provision of marketing services leadership to the management and staff.» In consultation with varying department heads deliver database marketing programs that focus on key target audiences.» Develop data acquisition processes in existing programs to capture audiences and drive growth in participation.
Page 3 Digital Management» In collaboration with the NRL Digital team, build on our current social media strategies to grow the TFA community and develop new audiences.» Working with the NRL Digital team and TFA Digital Content Producer, generate and share engaging story lines, photos, videos and news content optimized for relevant platforms daily.» Develop strong relationships with players, coaches and TFA ambassadors to assist in the development of content.» Monitor, trial and introduce digital platforms to enhance online communication offerings.» Work with management and the TFA network to assess requirements and determine priorities to create online solutions» Management of other linked web pages including TFA Clubhouse and other program pages in collaboration with internal subject matter experts.» Assist State locations and affiliates with respective websites (Fox Sports Pulse) and social media platforms and assist them to build and engage with their relevant audiences.» Management of the Staff Login and Affiliate Secure sections.» Coordination and management of all TFA websites on the Fox Sports Pulse network. Multimedia Support» In conjunction with key TFA personnel, ensure the regular maintenance of partner branding and referencing on various websites, newsletters and marketing products that enhance TFA s image and exposure and provide leverage to existing and potential partners.» Undertake, as required smaller graphic design requirements with updates to existing social media tiles, templates, multimedia templates and/or promotional items using contemporary design software/products.» Ensure the maintenance and storage of logo formats, organisational templates and the image/ multimedia libraries.» Take responsibility for multimedia equipment and production requirements particularly linked to TFA Major Events and various State partner events as determined - helping to provide Livestreaming and develop regular unique content for use through the various online and Social Media channels.» Prepare and assist TFA management team with development and distribution of marketing materials, proposals supporting partnerships.
Page 4 Other Responsibilities» Develop and implement proactive market research strategies to meet key internal and external stakeholder expectations.» Ongoing evaluation of fan and member research, market conditions and competitor activity to inform the marketing plan and further enhance TFA.» Working with senior management to maintain relationships with key stakeholders.» Contribute to operational plans and budgets.» Offer expert marketing, communications and media advise to CEO and Executive Management Team.» Identify opportunities to raise the profile and grow events across the country.» Prepare reports, documents and awards submissions as required.» Lead and motivate staff across the country to become engaged with their supporters, fans and players through the use of media channels.» Maintain up to date knowledge of marketing, branding and communication best practice, especially where relevant to sport and ensure that this knowledge and expertise is effectively deployed.» Undertake ad hoc project work or other occasional duties as required by Head of Commercial or the Executive Management Team. C. Key Relationships» Work closely with and at the direction of the TFA Head of Commercial.» Manage and direct the Digital Content Producer on daily work flow.» Collaborate with the NRL Marketing and Communications Unit on key projects as required.» Work with relevant TFA personnel and states staff within state operations.» Work with relevant personnel in various levels of government.» Provide customer service to participants, affiliates, volunteers and partners.» Work collaboratively with other members of the Marketing Communications Team to ensure all communications projects are delivered effectively across the business. D. Key Selection Criteria» Sound knowledge, relationship or background of Touch Football or a willingness to quickly develop related skills and knowledge of the structure and operation of Touch Football Australia.» Significant experience of developing digital and online channels and delivering social media strategies and campaigns with sound online project management experience.» Demonstrated experience in document design programs such as InDesign, and website editor programs.» Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot original branding opportunities.» Demonstrated initiative and self-management with proven success in delivering outcomes.» Demonstrated experience and skills in budget management.» Excellent written and oral communication skills supported by meticulous attention to detail and interpersonal skills of a high order.» Demonstrated ability to consistently display customer services principles, practices and attributes along with a solid understanding that customer service reaches beyond

Qualifications / Position Requirements» Tertiary qualifications in communications, digital or new media and proven experience in a related field.» Over 2 years experience in related field with an understanding of demands from government agencies and/or national or high-performance sporting organisations.» Initiative and the ability to think creatively.» Professional presentation and refined social skills.» Current drivers licence.» Exceptional work ethic with the flexibility to attend after work hours functions.» Always observe strict confidentiality, promoting Touch Football and the brand of the NRL internally and externally by upholding all organisational values.» IT skills necessary for analysis, report writing, presentations and general communication (MS Suite).» Experience and knowledge of web content management software supported by web content writing and editorial experience.» Willing to work under the provisions associated with the Certified Agreement of TFA and abide by the policies of the organisation.
