The Operations Knowledge Base stores start, stop and recovery commands and responses and status messages for more than 40 types of resources. System health, alert, service and resource monitors increase problem resolution efficiency through fast detection, notification and automation of system events. Advanced automation capabilities: Standard automation can be executed by building code free processes that can be shared across similar resources. NCL and NCL and REXX language support have been provided to assist users in developing more complex, in-house specific automation routines. Audit logging is provided to help with corporate governance requirements. Comprehensive parallel sysplex management of resources: This includes managing system affinity for shared resources, automation, system resource discovery, code-free automation and automated startup and shutdown. Simplified and more efficient system operations: Centralized operational controls, syntax-independent generic commands and userdefined views lower costs and allow less skilled staff to manage a complex environment. Mainframe 2.0 CA SOLVE:Operations Automation has adopted two key Mainframe 2.0 features that are designed to simplify your use of CA SOLVE:Operations Automation and enable your staff to install, configure and maintain it more effectively and quickly. Electronic Software Delivery (ESD): The Mainframe 2.0 ESD enables you to install CA SOLVE:Operations Automation using standard utilities without requiring you to reconstitute a tape cartridge. This new procedure helps speed installation and facilitates a consistent install process across mainframe products from CA Technologies, shortening the learning curve for mainframe staff. CA Mainframe Software Manager (CA MSM) for CA Recommended Service: CA Recommended Service will enable you to obtain more timely and preventative maintenance for your licensed mainframe products from CA Technologies whether you are an early or late adopter of product maintenance. What s new in CA SOLVE:Operations Automation r11.9 CA Mainframe Connector for Linux on System z: CA Mainframe Connector for Linux on System z is a new product, providing crossplatform integration of command and event flows from Linux on System z and z/vm environments. This new product will enable visibility and control from the familiar interfaces used in CA SOLVE:Operations Automation. Hardware events monitoring: CA SOLVE:Operations Automation can now listen for hardware and software events that take place on various CPCs and images throughout the HMC network. This feature provides customers with the ability to develop message rule-based automation for HMC/hardware event messages. 4
