Korlok The inspirations These boards feature a fantastic combination of straight grain with occasional flowery grain due to seasonal growth. Slightly brushing the boards opened up the woods pores and allowed the mineral stain areas to absorb the applied color, creating soft tonal variations. 5

Korlok The inspirations Sourced from the East Coast, butternut is often referred to as white walnut because of their relation to black walnut but with a pale bark. We applied a milk-colored wash to construct a more Europeaninfluenced design. For a second product variation we lightly smoked the boards to darken the tannins, generating a unique look and sophisticated color tone. 11

Korlok The inspirations Dating back to the 17 th Century, these boards generated their own distinct personality through natural aging and foot traffic. We bleached a few boards to create the highly sought after cool grey, but mostly let the boards to the talking. For a second interpretation, we focused on the antique coloration of the boards. It s perfect to highlight the markings history has created and the beautiful patina of the aged boards still shine through. 15
