However, experience shows that many a time on intervention of court that faulty disciplinary procedure has not only been found illegal but led to reinstatement of workmen which adversely affects discipline in industry. Disciplinary procedure requires expertise in view of judicial pronouncements which have laid down various norms for taking disciplinary action against erring workmen. It is, therefore, necessary to equip the practising managers / executives with required skills to enable them to manage the discipline and fool-proof knowledge of intricacies in handling procedure, to equip them to discharge their duties better. The workshop aims to focus on these issues and also the steps required to be taken to improve managerial skill in maintaining discipline with the awareness of legal options in handling various issues faced by the management.
