Metricon Stadium is a $144M stadium owned by Stadiums Queensland and proudly managed by the Gold Coast SUNS. This role will provide the and Stadium Event Coordinator with support in event day planning, management and delivery of all stadium events including Gold Coast SUNS and AFL events, community and corporate events. A key component of this role is ensuring that Metricon Stadium provides a memorable customer experience and fulfils all functional requirements to the highest standard. Key Responsibilities for this Role Key Responsibilities Stadium and Event Management Develop and maintain sound business relationships with stadium stakeholders, suppliers and hirers Ensure all stadium related operational practices performed by staff, contractors or venue hirers are compliant with stadium OH&S requirements Assist with the development of documentation related to the conduct of each event (Event Management Plans, Site Maps/Plans, Staff Information and Briefing Sheets, Incident Registers, Staff Rosters) Assist in the implementation and review of venue operational processes and procedures for the planning and monitoring of performance of service contracts including waste management, cleaning, catering, security, emergency services, traffic management, signage installation and ticketing services Assist and as required lead with regard to stadium related setups and pull-downs for events Coordinate operational requirements for events as required Ensure that the stadium is presented to the highest possible standard at all times Compile the Event Issues Register after each event and circulate within the department Collation of information / rosters / feedback and development of a post event summary Assist with the development and implementation of a casual workforce strategy including the training and induction of the casual workforce Assist with the process around rostering of CEO s for AFL fixtures, major stadium, community and promotional events Assist in the formulation of team leader documentation and position information for game days Prepare quotes and hire agreements for small events and venue hire in conjunction with the Ticketing Assist in the development of event builds, allocations and holds across all Gold Coast SUNS and Metricon Stadium events Collate and fulfill all internal and external stakeholder ticketing requirements, including, but not limited to groups, AFL, corporate, sponsor and staff allocations Implement operational plans for distribution of stakeholder ticketing requirements Facilitate the releasing of seats for sale at all GC SUNS and Metricon Stadium events to ensure efficient and effective sale of tickets Assist with event day ticket releases under direction from the. Ensure all ticketing activity for all GC SUNS and Metricon Stadium events is recorded and financially reconciled by accurate journaling, invoicing etc. Stadium Contracting & Scheduling Actively respond to enquiries for casual hire of facilities and refer to leads to the General Manager - Stadium when appropriate Assist with increasing stadium usage outside of AFL Finance Ongoing review of stadium costs to ensure that stadium services are being delivered in a cost effective way and that stadium is affordable compared to competitors venues
General Information management ensure that the information required by the Stadium Department is readily available and accessible Assist in the preparation of departmental reports as directed Manage regular communications with the casual staffing pool (staff newsletter) Review and update the Stadium Policies & Procedures Manual to ensure continuous improvement in this area Take on specific tasks and projects as directed by the Personal Specifications Essential qualifications / experience / skills: 1-2 years experience in stadium and/or event management with a general understanding of the operational requirements in planning and delivering a successful event Demonstrated ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision Proven ability to work collaboratively, be proactive and anticipate and plan for eventualities Sound computer skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office High level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work within a 24/7 environment An eye for detail and ability to exercise sound judgement A team player who will contribute to team goals Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and tight deadlines Desirable: Formal qualifications in Venue, Events or Sports Management or equivalent Knowledge of AFL Experience in a stadium or venue Staff Supervision Full Time Nil Various casual staff
