What are the factors that go into deciding whether there's a need for the cameras and how do you decide what type of cameras are best for your district? Sider: The privacy issue. Florida operates under the Sunshine Law, which allows open records for many public institutions. It's important for schools to know what they can and cannot release, and what must be redacted before releasing video. Technology in the Classroom Classroom technology is ever-evolving, many times faster than school districts have the funds to keep up with. The latest trend is Google Apps for Education, including Google Doc and Google Forms that help administrators and educators keep lines of communication open with parents in a simple, easy-to-use format. We'll look at these and some of the other latest technology that is trending right now. Curbing Employee Theft According to school districts, an issue of growing concern is employee theft, particularly in the areas of facilities and transportation. Everything from parts and tools, to construction materials, which can be costly for school districts. How do you know what to watch for, and how do you stop employee theft? We'll look at the latest technology (cameras, etc), talk about the legalities surrounding its use, and what can be done to curb employee theft.
