TEES VALLEY, UK: ADVANCED GASIFICATION ENERGY-FROM-WASTE PLANTS Overview: 2,000 tpd of MSW (in total) 100 MW (gross) electrical, base load production of energy using combined cycle power block World s first combined cycle EFW facility TV2 WPC Gasifier Update: First phase - TV1 (1,000 tpd), is in the commissioning process and scheduled to be on-stream in Q1, 2015 Second phase - TV2 (1,000 tpd), is under construction and estimated to be on-stream in 2016 TV1 WPC Gasifier and Auxiliary Modules installed at TV1 4

INDUSTRIAL SCALE SYNGAS PRODUCTION FROM WASTE MATERIALS Specifications: G-65 model 350,000 tpy ~3.5 Million MMBtu/year Dimensions: Weight: 204 tonnes Height: 25 m Width: 9 m 5

WESTINGHOUSE PLASMA: TECHNOLOGY SUPPLIED Gasifier Reactor Auxiliary and Control Modules 6

THE OPERATION OF THE TEES VALLEY PROJECT DEMONSTRATES: 1. Industrial / Commercial scale volumes of syngas from waste: 2,000 tpd of feedstock will produce ~7 Million MMBtu/year of syngas 100 MW (gross) electrical, base load production of energy Equivalent production of 1,600 2,000 Bbls/day of liquid fuels 2. The ability to consistently produce syngas at the required specification: To ensure reliability, the syngas must consistently meet the fuel specification of the gas turbine Gas turbine syngas specification is similar to liquids conversion technology syngas specification 3. The ability to create negative to low cost syngas from feedstock's Tipping fee revenues reduce the operating cost of making clean syngas 7

SHANGHAI, CHINA: HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITY Overview: 30 tpd of medical waste and incinerator ash Co-located with Shanghai Chengtou hazardous waste facility Facility was commissioned in Q1, 2014 WPC offers this plant globally as a turnkey solution Benefits: Vitrifies hazardous incinerator ash Inorganic materials are transformed into non-leaching marketable slag Creates steam that is utilized in a steam turbine 8

WUHAN, CHINA: WASTE-TO-BIOFUELS FACILITY Overview: 150 tpd of mixed wood biomass Creates diesel and naptha using catalytic Fischer-Tropsch (FT) process Facility was commissioned in Q4, 2012 Update: Development of a 2,000 tpd commercial facility in progress Wuhan Kaidi recently closed purchase of Rentech s FT technology 9 9

PUNE, INDIA: COMMERCIAL HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITY Overview: 72 tpd of hazardous waste Processes 40-60 different waste streams Syngas is used to create electricity which is exported to the grid Facility was commissioned in 2008 10

MIHAMA-MIKATA, JAPAN: ENERGY FROM WASTE FACILITY Overview: 24 tpd of MSW and sewage sludge Waste heat is used to dry sewage sludge prior to gasification Vitrified non-leaching slag is used as aggregate for concrete and paving stones Facility was commissioned in 2002 11

FUEL REPLACEMENT Displacing high cost fossil fuels required to power existing gas turbines

GE TECHNICAL / ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY STUDY HIGHLIGHTS GE completed a technical study to evaluate the suitability of Westinghouse Plasma (WPC) Syngas and confirmed that: WPC syngas is a suitable fuel for GE s 6,7 and 9 series gas turbines: GE gas turbines will not experience a de-rate when operating on a blend or at 100% WPC Syngas In fact, the increased volume of WPC Syngas will increase efficiency and generate additional electrical power vs. natural gas 13

REFUELING GE GAS TURBINE S Who benefits: Importers of high cost fuels - Users Countries that export high value fuels Sellers o E.g. Middle East countries use fossil fuel to generate highly subsidized power Region Frame 6 Frame 7 Frame 9 Total AFRICA 33 2 112 147 ANZ-OCEANIA 1 0 0 1 AUSTRALIA 20 0 15 35 ASIA 131 95 219 445 CIS 33 0 25 58 EUROPE 90 0 131 221 LATIN 43 122 22 187 MIDEAST 107 362 248 717 N AMERICA 162 1712 2 1877 Grand Total 620 2293 774 3687 REPLACE HIGH COST FOSSIL FUELS WITH NEGATIVE TO LOW COST SYNGAS 14

POWERING GE TURBINES WITH LOW COST (ZERO COST) SYNGAS WESTINGHOUSE PLASMA GASIFICATION IS THE KEY ENABLING TECHNOLOGY PLASMA GASIFICATION FACILITY UNIT OPERATING COST (PER MMBTU SYNGAS PRODUCED, NET OF GATE FEE REVENUES) Tipping Fees $0/t $40/t $60/t $80/t $100/t G-65 (1,000 tpd) $6.0 $1.75 $0 ($2.40) ($4.75) * Europe, UK, China, India, Japan, Korea, South America Fuel Oil LNG $17+ / MMBtu (OR) $110 / Bbl $10 - $20 / MMBtu Assumptions: Capital per MMBtu for clean syngas is ~$2/MMBtu Compression to 400psig per MMBtu is ~$0.75/MMBtu $60/t MSW Revenue, $60/t Biomass Cost, $6/GJ Natural Gas Cost 1 G-65 Gasifier, 1000 t/d capacity The VALUE PROPOSITION of GASIFYING 1,000 tpd of WASTE Can produce ~3.5 Million MMBtu/year of syngas at significant discount to current global fuel pricing This syngas can be used to displace expensive and volatile fossil fuels 15

THE WRAP UP Processing capability ranging from 25 to 1,000 ton per day in a single reactor Produces zero/negative cost syngas from tipping fee related feedstock s Industrial scale syngas production with multiple conversion opportunities to higher value end products LIQUID FUELS ~365,000 Bbls/yr (OR) WASTE 350,000 tpy SYNGAS ~3.5 Million MMBtu/yr ELECTRICITY 50 MW (gross) base load production 16
