Dear Students and Faculty, Wishing you all a very happy Thanksgiving holiday! We have been very busy in the Career Center with internships! All of a sudden, we have many students seeking opportunities for spring, summer, and even next year. We love to see the planning start early. Here are a few items regarding internships to keep in mind: The Career Center staff cannot simply place a student into an internship. Not only is it not legal for us to do so, it defeats our commitment of making opportunities equally accessible to all students. We are happy to assist with finding internship sites, providing access to our lists of employers, providing connections to our alumni and guidance with application materials, especially that all-important resume. Many internships are not posted. This is bad news to many of us, however it does open up potential opportunities with many employers in a student s area of interest. Not sure about your area of interest? Start with information interviews before an internship. We have a script of questions to ask a potential internship employer and will help make those connections. Ideally, your internship would fit into your academic plan with the guidance of your faculty advisor; please seek their advice. Continue to check Saints4Hire for new listings; you can sort by internships under the Job Type. Faculty - we are creating a login for you to view listings on Saints4Hire. We will send that information to you early next week so you have access to the information as you are advising your students.
