HOBAS Line Make things happen.

HOBAS Line - fo Pipes with a on-icula oss-section HOBAS Line ae glass-einfoced polyeste (GRP) pipes manufactued using the filament winding pocess and designed fo constucting o ehabilitating non-cicula sewes. An ideal solution fo such applications, these special pipes can be made to fit inside the old sewe fo ehabilitation o in vitually any shape equied fo new installations. onsisting of polyeste esin, quatz sand and glass, the pipes ae manufactued to DI 16868 Pat 3. Pipe calibation template Popeties HOBAS Line Pipes ae manufactued on a compute-contolled filament winding machine that can poduce specially shaped pipes with both cicula and non-cicula cosssections up to a diamete of 2900 mm. They ae made of unsatuated polyeste esin to DI 16946 Pat 2, at least type 1130, quatz sand as einfocing mateial of gain size <1.0 mm, and glass ovings to DI 61855 Pats 1 and 2. Duing the winding pocess, all the HOBAS Line Pipes ae also fitted with a sleeve coupling at one end, which has an elastomeic sealing gasket to DI 4060. Afte this pocess is completed, the spigot is milled. An adhesive joint is also available fo special applications. Abasion pefomance was tested using the Damstadt method and the pipes show high abasion esistance ove thei entie sevice life. The jetting esistance was analyzed by Siebet Engineeing onsultants in Oststeinbeck (epot of August 22, 1989 available on equest). Diffeent pipe shapes and wall thicknesses can be supplied and ae selected to cate fo the load cases involved. Design and manufactue of the HOBAS Line thus meets a wide ange of custome specifications. highly esinous outside laye with a filling of quatz sand, appox. 0.5 mm stuctual laye with esin, andom-fibe, winding oving and a filling of quatz sand baie laye: andom-fibe, appox. 1.5 mm highly esinous inside laye with a filling of quatz sand (wea laye), appox. 1.0 mm 2

Rehabilitation of an egg-shaped intecepto in Hildesheim Belin-Steglitz stom sewe The fist sewes wee built in the noth Geman town of Hildesheim in 1860. Given that the municipal netwok was designed as a combined sewe, egg-shaped pipes wee the optimum solution fo many sections. The intecepto equiing ehabilitation in the Lange Gaten oad was installed in 1906 and made of concete with a bottom lining. An egg-shaped pipe with a coss-section of D 800/ 1200, its bottom depths anged fom 4.42 m to 9.34 m. It is pimaily used as a stom sewe fo an industial aea, but wastewate fom a pape mill is also dischaged into the pipe at times. Following sewe inspection, the damage was classified as old pipe condition II to ATV M 127. A goundwate level of 2.60 m above the bottom of the old sewe also had to be taken into consideation fo the stuctual dimensioning of the line. Egg-shaped D 680/1050 pipes with a wall thickness of 10 mm wee selected fo ehabilitation. They wee inseted sepaately into the old sewe though a shot shaft at the end of the elining section. Afte being joined, each pipe was pevented fom floating at the cown of the old sewe. The lengths of 2.0 m and 3.0 m combined with the simple jointing system enabled the line pipes to be laid apidly. As a esult, installation was completed within six days. The stom sewes fom the vaious popeties wee connected to the intecepto with laminate hand layup. To check leak tightness, the line was then filled with wate. Finally, the emaining annulus between the line pipe and old sewe was completely filled with special cement (gout). Intensive use and high taffic loads in the Belin distict of Steglitz- Lichtefelde Ost esulted in deteioation of a concete stomwate sewe (hood coss-section 1560x1770 mm). In view of the damage detected and the load conditions, the HOBAS Line Pipes wee calculated on the basis of old pipe condition II to ATV M 127 Pat 2. They wee then manufactued using a calibation template that was a eplica of the old pipe shape. Twomete lengths wee laid in the staight sections of the sewe and one-mete lengths in the cuved sections. HOBAS Line Poducts D 680/1050 fo Relining stoed in font of the access shaft HOBAS Line pipe installation The HOBAS pipes wee joined with push-on couplings bonded in place by laminate hand lay-up. Pecautions wee also taken duing installation to pevent flotation. Afte tightness testing to DI E 1610 pocedue W, gout was injected section by section.
