Western International Oil & Gas Limited is 100% nationally owned company. The company Comprises of three (3) nationally owned companies that form the joint venture. Workforce South Pacific Ltd, Kupasabigu Investment Corporation Ltd and Sania Investment Corporation Ltd. Kupasabigu Investment Corporation Limited and Sania Investment Limited are both companies from the oil rich areas in Nomad District in Western Province of Papua New Guinea, where 75% of the oil & Gas reservoir lies. Kupasabigu Investment Corporation Limited is the logically the Principle landowner company from Juha PDL 09 Gas Project in Nomad Sub- District and is one of the current areas where the PNG LNG Gas Project is operating. Sania Investment Ltd is the Principle landowner company for the PPL 239 in Mougulu of Nomad Sub District in the Western Province of Papua New Guinea. This merger has come about to establish a strong foundation and unity to meet the demands of their clients in the PNG LNG Gas project, and to achieve the scope and requirements for the company, financially. Workforce South Pacific Ltd was established in early 2010, with OTML as a reline and Maintenance contractor on their Ball Mills & Sag Mills, and has expanded their expertise to other countries like South Africa, Tanzania and Asia in relining activities and Mechanical & Civil constructions and also as service providers for Human Resources to its clients, nationally and overseas. Training Programs Western International Oil & Gas Ltd is proud to be part of PNG s industrial training program to up skilling its workforce; Train locals through the Trade Skills program conducted through TVET and PETT programs and participate in apprenticeship programs also. We have put together a training schedule both oral/written and Practical assessments to be implemented in this training Programs. These will enable Trainers in passing the certificate of Competency in accordance with the National standard RII09 in work place assessments with trainers issued log books to carry out their training hours and duties This is an example of which Western International Oil & Gas Ltd will include in the training programme, These are just some of the topics involved in the training program that will not only benefit the participants but will benefit the host Mines by making this scope of works so much safer, and increasing relining productivity whilst reducing the amount of downtime on Mill shutdowns.
Safety Policy Western International Oil & Gas Ltd. s obligation is as far being practical, provide and maintain a safe working environment and where employees are not expose to any hazards. Any safety matter will be dealt with through consultation of the employees and Safety officer. Safety targets will be highlighted. Under the General Industrial act, the Western International Oil & Gas Ltd will maintain and abide by the rule and regulations on the DUTY OF CARE policy at all time during it cause of duty for its employee s. Before a commencing a task, a Pre starts meeting must be held prior to job commencement. All risk assessment done for the particular task must be highlighted in this meeting for all employees to fully understand the hazards written in the relevant JSA agree to it and sign on. JSA/SWP, work permits related to the scope of works each must complete their Take 5 in their own groups before the job commences. Working at Heights permit must be signed and authorised by the person in charge for any task for work above 2 meters, or where and object can fall from or onto or on top a person. All personals working above 2m must have current W@ H permit and sign on the heights permit before performing duty. Safety targets and objectives will be set to the highest standards and maintained.
