July 30, 2015 This addendum reopens bidding process with a series of revisions primarily focusing on construction detailing and assemblies related to required occupancy separations. We are also responding to final set of questions. With this addendum, we respond to final RFI s and bidding question period closes. I look forward to receiving and reviewing your bids. The following Sections have been modified to read as shown below. Changes made to the original RFP document are in bold print and highlighted, and deletions made have a strike through. Responses to Written Questions RFI 17 Q37) Underground fire line: Reference section 33 10 00, Water Systems, part 2.01, item A.1 and part 2.02, item B.1.d. Part 2.02, item B.1.d states Fittings shall be epoxy lined and coated with a thickness not less the 6 mils. However, part 2.01, item A.1, ductile iron pipe is shown with no requirement for epoxy lining and coating. Does the pipe need to be epoxy lined and coated? A37) Per spec section 2.01.A.1, the pipe is cement mortar lined. Q38) If the answer is no to Q1, then do the fittings need to be epoxy lined and coated? A38) Yes, per spec section 2.02.B.1.d. RFI 18 Q39) Storm Drainage Bio retention: Reference sheets C4.01 & C5.11. The plans do not show perforated pipe in bio retention area B5. Please comment A39) Include perf pipe per Details 6 and 8 on Sheet C5.11. RFI 19 Q40) Storm Drainage Bio retention Perforated pipe: Reference specification Section 33 40 00. Please confirm that 4 PVC SDR 35, solvent weld pipe is permissible for use in bioretention areas. A40) Per spec section 2.01.A use SDR 26. RFI 20 Q41) Storm Drainage: Reference sheet C5.03, detail 8 Specifically the Christy box lid at the diverter valve. A traffic rated lid for a Christy Concrete B24 is not manufactured. Please advise. A41) Use Christy Concrete Box B2436, or approved equivalent. See Sheet C5.03 for Addendum #5. RFI 21 Q42) Storm Drainage: Reference Sheet C4.01 Wall Sub drainage and building Wall Sub drainage On the southeast side of the project a 4 perforated pipe is shown at the wall. Please provide detail of sub drain. A42) See Sheet C4.01 for Addendum #5 for clarification. Q43) Only one cleanout is shown at the southeast end of the perforated pipe. Q46) If cleanouts are required, please provide detail of cleanout locations. A46) See Sheet C4.01 for Addendum #5 for clarification. RFI 23 Q47) Section 33 40 00 Storm Drainage, item 3.04 deflection testing: The specification calls for deflection testing A deflection mandrel will not pass through fittings. Therefore please comment on the following: Is deflection testing required on sections with fittings? A47) Yes. Note: slight protrusions of fittings into the pipe interior can cause the mandrel to not pass through the pipe. Q48) For that matter, is deflection testing required? A48) Yes, per the spec. RFI 24 Q49) Section 33 40 00 Storm Drainage, item 3.06 video inspection: Please confirm video inspection is required. A49) Yes, per the spec. RFI 25 Q50) Where in Bid Form is a space to include Unit Prices for civil quantities specified in Addendum #2, A6. A50) See Addendum #5 updated bid form Specification section 00 41 13.a.5.. RFI 26 Q51) The bid form has entry spots for three (3) Alternates. Specification section 01 22 00 lists eight (8) Alternates. Please revise Bid Form to allow for eight (8) Alternates.
