A unique mobile application platform Movilizer The lowest cost mobile application platform for enterprises!
Why is it low cost No new mobile hardware. You don t have to buy any new mobile hardware. The Movilizer Client supports connected (online) and disconnected (offline) work and runs on any mobile phone (not only smartphones). So you can re-use your current mobile devices to run your mobile applications. No IT infrastructure required. You don t have to install any IT infrastructure. The Movilizer Middleware is available on demand. You only need to call the Movilizer Webservice from your backend system or you can work standalone in a user friendly Movilizer Portal environment. The Movilizer Portal also enables you to design and deploy mobile applications in the easiest way you can imagine. Nearly no external consultancy required for the implementation. You don t have to spend much money on external consulting for the implementation. Movilize it yourself! In all probability you will be able to configure lean scenarios in minutes or hours without any external consulting. Of course more complex and refined scenarios will require integration efforts. However, and this is the important change in the paradigm: The effort is purely in the backend system. The business logic to connect to the Movilizer is built in your business application whatever it is (e.g. ABAP development to integrate with SAP Plant Maintenance or SAP CRM Service Module). With the Movilizer you can forget about all the problems you have with mobile middleware and mobile clients. The business logic for the mobile process is configured in your backend system, the environment your IT experts know the best. Additionally the Movilizer comes with pre-packed connectors for SAP PM and other SAP ERP or SAP CRM modules.
and why is it the most flexible application platform? No licence costs. Only support fees per live user and month. Combine information from different backend systems in a single mobile app. The Movilizer follows the Lego principle, which means that the Movilizer allows you to combine different business processes (linked to different backend systems like SAP ERP, SAP CRM, non SAP backends, Excel Spreadsheets etc.) in a single mobile application. Mixed roles for your mobile users are also supported. In this way the same mobile user can execute preventive work orders from SAP PM, urgent work orders from a legacy system, create leads in a SAP CRM or SalesForce.com and fill a marketing survey from an Excel based marketing application on one mobile phone. Flexibility to change the mobile app on the fly. Changing screen flows, adding new fields, removing fields, or even adding new screens and rolling out the changes to the mobile devices can be done in seconds without having to deploy a new mobile application. Experienced mobility architects know that this becomes a key show stopper to process changes in even medium size roll-outs of mobile applications. The Movilizer supports business process changes on the fly, like pure online mobile applications, but with offline charm
How does it work? Introduction As you can see on the pictures below, there are no requirements for a new IT infrastructure, mainly due to two reasons: 1 the Movilizer Client runs on any mobile phone or PDA (you can reuse existing phones and/or mobile devices) and 2 the Movilizer Middleware runs as a service in the Movilizer Cloud. Via the Self Service Portal, you can use the Movilizer standalone, but in case you wish to integrate the Movilizer with your existing backend system (e.g. SAP, Oracle, SalesForce.com, Navision etc.), you can download predefined plug-in connectors from the Self Service Portal and deploy it to your backend system. In the Self Service Portal you can also build your own connectors. Below the two usage models at a glance (standalone and integrated): standalone integrated The Movilizer Client The Movilizer Client is a little Java application which runs on your current mobile phone or on your current handheld device. The deployment of the Movilizer Client is done via SMS and is exactly as easy as downloading a ringtone (average set up time is seconds). It works online and offline, so you don t need permanent connectivity. The synchronization can be triggered automatically in the background, or explicitly by the mobile user. The Movilizer Client uses the native user interface of your mobile phone or PDA. In this way you can use many of your mobile phone features within the Movilizer application such as diary, integration with phone book, etc.
The Movilizer Cloud Using the Movilizer Cloud mean, that you don t need to install any additional infrastructure (no middleware). The following components are accessible via the internet: 1 Synchronisations Service The Synchronization Service allows you to work synchronously or asynchronously. This provides the Movilizer with the capability of supporting thousands of mobile user synchronizations per second. 2 Self-Service-Portal You can use the Self-Service-Portal with any browser. The Self-Service-Portal offers amongst others: User administration Movelet (mobile application) administration (assigning of users, start, stop, copy, etc.) Movelet Designer with an easy user interface Data and user monitoring Download predefined connectors Create your own connectors and make them available to others 3 Web Service The Web Service is responsible to connect the Movilizer to any backend system. It includes APIs for: Sending and assigning data to your mobile user (Movilizer Client) Receiving captured data from the mobile user Monitoring and administration of the mobile landscape (e.g. creating users etc.) The Movilizer Connectors To save you implementation and development efforts, the Movilizer comes with predefined connectors. In the Self-Service-Portal you can download all available connectors and see the exact documentation for the installation. Movilizer Connectors always include a generic connector (that will allow your system to call the Movilizer Web Service) and a business connector (which contains your scenario business logic). All you need to build your own connector is a backend system which is able to handle webservice. We provide Movilizer Webservice documentations which explain exactly and step by step how to build, test and operate a new connector.
Where is the Movilizer used? A large European airport is using the Movilizer to send service tickets out of SAP ERP to mobile phones of internal and external maintenance service employee. The employee in the field set in real time all status updates from reception, over acceptance to the completion of the service ticket on their mobile phone. This information will be displayed in a service portal for monitoring of the maintenance progress. This is crucial for ensuring service level agreements. The technician also has mobile access to a list of so called solution code. By choosing a solution code with the Movilizer and sending it to SAP ERP all subsequent process steps, such as material purchase or change of personnel for skill level reasons, get triggered automatically. Thanks to the Movilizer, even external technicians can receive their worklist on mobile phones via a secured connection. There is no need of granting direct access to the SAP backend system. By re-using existing mobile phones, there was no hardware investment, and no effort for adapting a new system. This minimizes the investment in the Movilizer and enables a fast roll-out. A small size wine producer in Spain is using the Movilizer to run over 100 quality inspections across several grape fields every day. Thanks to the Movilizer, the Grape -Farmers are able to use their mobile phones to accomplish the daily mandatory quality inspections of the grape. The data is captured directly in the fields (if there is no mobile connection on the field, the data will be send automatically after the connection is restored) and send to the backend system.
Your benefits The Movilizer allows easiest mobilization of business processes on all mobile devices (not only smartphones) is able to receive data from multiple backend systems (SAP, Oracle, Excel, etc.) transfers the correct data to the correct mobile device synchronize mobile data with the correct backend system supports on- and offline modus needs no deployment of the mobile application (ringtone-principle) allows changing or adding of new screens or fields within seconds delivers 100% process driven screens needs no installation is for free (no license fees upfront, support fees for live user)
