Public Affairs and Government Relations Manager Grade: 4 Salary: from 42,350 Working pattern: full time (35 hours per week) Part 1: Job profile Purpose of the job The role will be responsible for leading and developing our political work and liaising with Parliament, Government and Civil Servants. The Public Affairs Manager will work closely with the sector leading and coordinating responses to Government announcements and changes to policy. Position within the organisation - A member of the Policy and Campaigns Management Team (PCT), reporting to the Director of Policy and Campaigns. - People Management; Advisers, PCT trainee, temporary staff and consultants to achieve organisational objectives and campaign targets and deliver high quality work for members - Leads and collaborates with other internal Bond teams, including leading and participating in crossorganisational project teams - Representing Bond externally to campaigns staff across the Bond membership, Bond member campaign coalitions, Bond Working Groups, partners in civil society networks and allies across the UK and internationally Part 2: Key responsibilities Lead Bond s political and stakeholder strategy - Lead and implement s Bond work on combatting increasing aid attacks - Develop and communicate analysis and insight on key political trends and developments for internal and external audiences. - Track, monitor and evaluate Bond s influencing strategies and contribute to team planning, budgeting and annual reporting. - In collaboration with relevant team members, deliver Bond s influencing strategies both within the UK and also at a European level. - Lead Bond s work with other Networks on campaigns (Britain s role in the world) - Provide internal forecasts of the likely effect of public policy changes on their organisation - Recommend appropriate tactics for effective engagement to raise awareness and strengthen our reputation with key policy makers and decision-makers - Horizon scan for upcoming policy developments and activities and maintain a public affairs schedule
