SCHEME OF TESTING AND INSPECTION FOR CERTIFICATION OF ALLUMINIUM ALLOY TUBES FOR IRRIGATION PURPOSES; WELDED TUBES ACCORDING TO IS: 7092 (PART I)-1992 1. LABORATORY: A laboratory shall be maintained which shall be suitably equipped and staffed, where the tests shall be carried out in accordance with the methods given in the specification. 1.1 All the testing equipments shall be periodically checked and records of such checks shall be maintained. 2. TEST RECORDS: All records of tests and analysis shall be kept in suitable forms approved by the Bureau. 2.1 Copies of any records or charts that may be required by BIS shall be made available at any time on request. 2.2 QUALITY CONTROL: It is recommended that, as far as possible, Statistical Quality Control (SQC) methods may be used for controlling the quality of the product during as envisaged in this scheme,see IS:397 (Part I)-1972, IS:397 (Part 2)-1985 and IS:397 (Part III)-1980>. In addition the provision of quality system specified in IS:14003-1988 Quality Systems Model of Quality Assurance in Final Inspection and Tests may be complied with as far as possible. 3. STANDARD MARK: of the Standard Marks given in the first Column of the First Schedule of the license, as applicable, shall be applied at a suitable place on the outside of each tube provided always that the tubes so marked conform to all the requirements of the specification. Pipes up to and including 50mm NB shall be marked by using transfix labels and pipes above 50mm NB either by using transfix labels or by stenciling. 4. MARKING: In addition the following information shall be included in the label attached to each tube or stenciled on the tube: a) Name of the manufacturer or trade mark, if any; b) Designation and temper of the alloy; c) Month and year of manufacture; d) Identification mark in code or otherwise to enable the date and lot of manufacture to be traced back to factory records.
5. LEVELS OF CONTROL: The analysis and tests as indicated in Table 1 attached and at the levels of control specified therein shall be carried out on the whole of the factory which is covered by this scheme and appropriate records and charts maintained in accordance with paragraph 2 above. All the which conforms to the Indian Standard and covered by this license shall be marked with BIS Certification Mark. 5.1 On the basis of the test and analysis results, decision will be taken regarding conformity or otherwise of the lot as a whole with the requirements of the specification as given in Table 1. 6. In respect of all other clauses of the specification, the factory will maintain appropriate controls and checks to ensure that their product conforms to the requirements of these clauses. 7. REJECTION: A record shall be maintained giving information relating to the rejection of lots of tubes, which do not conform to the specification and the method of their disposal. Such lots shall in no case be stored together with those conforming to the specification. 8. SAMPLES: The licensee shall supply, free of charge, the samples required in accordance with Regulations of the Bureau of Indian Standards from his factory or godown. BIS shall pay for the samples taken by it from the open market. 9. REPLACEMENT: Whenever a complaint is received soon after the goods with Certification Mark have been purchased and used, and if there is adequate evidence that the goods have not been misused, defective goods shall be replaced free of cost by the licensee in case the complaint is proved to be genuine and the warranty period (where applicable) has not expired. The final authority to judge conformity of the product to the Standard shall be with BIS. 10. STOP MARKING: The marking of the product shall be suspended under intimation to BIS, if, at any time, there is some difficulty in maintaining the conformity of the product to the specification, or the testing equipment goes out of order, or if directed to do so by BIS for any reason. The marking may be resumed as soon as the defects are removed or when BIS gives the permission to do so. The information regarding resumption of marking shall also be sent to BIS. 11. PRODUCTION DATA: The licensee shall send to BIS as per the enclosed proforma, a statement of the quantity produced, marked and exported by him and the trade value thereof during the half-year ending 30 June and 31 December. This Statement is required to be forwarded to BIS on or before the 31 st day of July and January for the preceding half-year.
