Job Description and Person Specification Volunteer Coordinator Title of Post: Employer: Salary: Hours: Volunteer Coordinator Central Scotland Regional Equality Council Ltd (CSREC) 5,414.5 pro rata ( 21,840 per annum) 14 Hours per week Contract: Fixed term till 30 March 2018 Responsible to: Manager Introduction Central Scotland Regional Equality Council (CSREC) was set up in 1984. It is a voluntary sector organisation, registered as a charity and a company limited by guarantee consisting of individual members and representatives from a wide range of organisations. CSREC has a remit to work across the areas of Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling Councils. It was set up to eradicate all forms of discrimination under the Race Relations Act 1976. Following the introduction of the Equality Act 2010 and in recognition of intersectionality, we widened our remit to work with all nine protected characteristics. The main aims of CSREC are: to work towards the elimination of discrimination in all its forms to reduce inequality and promote a culture of human rights to promote good relations between persons of protected characteristics without distinction on grounds of age, disability, marital status, pregnancy/maternity status, race, religion/belief, sex, sexual orientation and gender reassignment to promote, build and work in partnership This job description and person specification acts as a guide to the various responsibilities in relation to the position of Volunteer Coordinator which is funded by the Scottish Government s Volunteering Support Fund 2017-18 through Voluntary Action Fund. Due to the on-going changes within the Third Sector these responsibilities may be occasionally amended in negotiation with the position holder. Aims of the Post: To deliver the key outcomes of the Volunteering for All project as agreed with Scottish Government and Voluntary Action Fund. The key objectives of the project are detailed below: a. Increasing the diversity of CSREC s volunteer pool, especially to include those who experience disadvantage or would traditionally experience barriers to volunteering. b. Improving opportunities for skills and personal development through volunteering. c. Improving CSREC s capacity to support, train and deploy volunteers. d. Enhancing the services CSREC deliver to better meet the needs of the communities we serve.

Job description The main duties of the post will be: 1. Participate in planning, organising and running the following activities: a. Recruitment of at least 12 volunteers (including Board Members). b. Support the Chair and Manager in the recruitment of Board Members c. Support and supervision of volunteers d. Support existing project leads in volunteer management 2. Achieve Get into Investing in Volunteers accreditation for CSREC (already started) 3. Conduct outreach activities in Central Scotland and promote initiatives and volunteering activities. 4. To work in liaison with appropriate project leads, Admin Officer and Manager to develop and plan local volunteering involvement and initiatives. 5. To undertake local networking with other volunteering agencies and organisations to support local volunteering involvement and initiatives. 6. To develop appropriate volunteer recruitment campaigns in liaison with projects leads, Admin Officer and Manager. 7. To provide support and guidance to project leads in selecting, supporting and managing volunteers. 8. To develop and facilitate volunteer training programme and a development plan. 9. To develop and implement volunteer support networks to improve the engagement and retention of volunteers. 10. Produce promotional material and content; and manage delivery of all forms of communication including social media. 11. Attend/deliver training, meetings and conferences/seminars relevant to the project as required. 12. Project monitoring and evaluating system including monitoring of timekeeping and other operational activities 13. Collect information, monitor project activities, evidence the specific outcomes and report to funder on progress on a monthly basis 14. Undergo training as required 15. Work occasional unsocial hours 16. Produce regular reports of work activities and compile the project report 17. Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as agreed with the Manager Project Administration 1. Ensuring the accurate and timely recording of all information relating to the service and its activities including home visit records. 2. Undertaking all routine administration tasks generated by the project, such as timesheets, mileage, expenses and such like.

3. Ensuring all documentation relating to CSREC volunteers is stored safely and in line with organisational policy. Management and Accountability 1. Participating in staff meetings and staff supervision sessions on a regular basis. 2. Participating in personal development and other training sessions, as arranged by CSREC, Voluntary Action Fund, Volunteer Scotland and Scottish Government. 3. Ensuring the confidentiality of CSREC services users and volunteers is maintained at all times. 4. Undertaking any other appropriate duties as agreed with the Manager. Conditions of Service 1. Annual leave and public holidays annual leave and public holidays will be calculated on a pro-rata basis 2. Pension: CSREC will abide by legal requirements to provide a workplace pension 3. Further training will be provided if necessary and resources permitting. 6. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. Location The post holder will be based in Falkirk with outreach work and meetings around Central Scotland, occasional travel to other locations around Scotland for meetings and will include occasional evening and weekend working.
