Barnardos supports children whose well being is under threat, by working with them, their families, and communities and by campaigning for the rights of children. Barnardos was established in Ireland in 1962 and is Ireland s leading Children s charity. What does the Fundraising team do? The fundraising department is responsible for raising voluntary income to support Barnardos services in Ireland in the following ways: Individuals Campaigns and Events Corporate Fundraising Major Gift Trust and Foundations Legacies What does the Corporate and Events team do? The Corporate and Events team is made up of two Events Executives, a Corporate Fundraising Executive, a Trusts and Foundations Executive, this role the Corporate and Events Fundraiser and a Fundraising Assistant. All report to the Head of Corporate and Events and are responsible for a full portfolio of Barnardos national campaigns and events, all of our Corporate Partnerships and donors, as well as research and applications to all Trusts and Foundations. What will the Corporate and Events Fundraiser be doing? This role is responsible for the following main areas of work; Responsibility for achieving Community Fundraising income target. Representing Barnardos by delivering presentations to schools, sports clubs and community groups. Managing the Corporate Volunteer Programme. Key support for the Events and Corporate Executives in the execution of our national campaigns and assigned events. Working with the Fundraising Assistant to cover general administration duties for the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced candidate to gain an insight into all aspects of fundraising, in particular events and corporate. This varied role will involve networking among community groups, as well as managing teams of corporate volunteers and playing a key support role in Barnardos campaigns and events. 3 Corporate and Events Fundraiser Job Description Post: Location: Responsible to: Works with: Corporate and Events Fundraiser Dublin, but with some travel Head of Corporate and Events Corporate and Events Executives, Fundraising Team, corporate sponsors, schools and the public. Job purpose This post focuses on Barnardos Events and Corporate fundraising activities. The post supports and assists with the implementation of the fundraising strategic plan to raise voluntary income for Barnardos work with children. Core Job Requirements Maximise opportunities to increase participation in Community Fundraising Events for Barnardos, including proactive recruitment among community groups and schools. Management of the Corporate Volunteer Programme including: o Liaising with companies and projects to align their needs; purchasing of materials; induction at the start of the day; manage teams throughout the day; ensure work is done in accordance to the project requirements. Key support to the Events and Corporate Fundraising Executives on assigned national campaigns and events. Provide key online support for the fundraising team - updating the relevant sections on the events and corporate webpages with information on upcoming fundraising activities. Works with the Fundraising Assistant on general administration and dealing with enquires, requests, ad-hoc donations.as required. Supporting the Corporate and Events Fundraising Executives in researching potential corporate partnerships and event partners for new business. Working with the Donor Marketing team in designing and delivering e-zines detailing relevant information for supporters. Recording donor data recording as required.

4 Providing donor care and supporter communications, including face to face, written or telephone contact. Assisting in the planning and implementation of other fundraising activities, as assigned. Delivering all activities on time. Working with fundraising team and manager in achieving overall targets and goals. Requirements Specific to this Post Flexibility in working hours due to the requirement to work evenings and weekends when required. Work during unsocial hours may be required. Have a flexible approach to the work in response to organisational change, development and review of best practice. Participate in and engage with a performance management programme. Identify training needs with your line manager and participate in training opportunities appropriate to the role. To be vigilant to any Health, Safety and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of your line manager or local Health & Safety Officer. To participate in the efficient flow of information within the organisation by sharing and seeking information as appropriate. To undertake other duties as may be requested by the line manager from time to time. To undertake your work in a manner that is friendly, flexible and informal. 5 Corporate and Events Fundraiser Person Specification Personal Attributes - Flexibility, innovation and initiative. - Excellent telephone manner. - Good Database marketing knowledge - Good knowledge of marketing techniques, in particular how to promote existing and new initiatives. - Good communication and presentation skills, verbal, written and face to face. - Excellent project management and planning skills. - Excellent organisational and administrative skills. - The ability to juggle a wide range of activities, prioritise own workload and meet deadlines. - Excellent computer skills and working experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and database packages (Raisers Edge preferable but not essential).
