Contents Description Contents Description 2 Construction Standard Sizes 3 Applications Connection of Ventilation Ducts 4 Connection of Ventilation Ducts 5 Installation Details 6 Product Range 10 Technical Data 11 Order Details 12 FV-K90 FVZ-K30 Attention! The correct and safe operation of the fire protection valves must be checked at commissioning and by regular inspections. If after two inspections at six monthly intervals there are no functional problems then inspections can be extended to an annual basis. Maintenance work after commissioning is restricted to the removal of dirt which can impair operation of the equipment, e.g. in the thermal release mechanism. The maintenance intervals depend on the system engineering and operating conditions and must therefore be organised by the operator. Fire protection valves are licensed components. Therefore, the General and Special Provisions specified in the general building approvals and the instructions for installation, commissioning and maintenance which are enclosed with each delivery must be complied with when using the fire protection valves. Furthermore the general maintenance guidelines in accordance with DIN 31051 in connection with DIN EN 13306 must be complied with. Fire protection valves of the types FV-K90 and FVZ-K30 are designed for use in ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) and in addition to fire protection, they also have a ventilation function. They can be used both in supply and extract air applications. The flow rate can be adjusted via the two position control unit. The valves are fixed into the wall with bayonet fixing and catch device to prevent accidental release. If the temperature of the air passing through the valve rises above 72 C, the fusible link parts and the valve centre disc springs to its closed position where it is mechanically locked. Material: Installation subframe, location spigot and valve disc are in sheet steel, installation subframe and location spigot stove-enamelled black, valve disc stove-enamelled white on visible surface (RAL 9010), valve cone of special asbestosfree insulation material, seal of polyurethane, attachments in galvanised steel. The General Building Approval Z-41.3-317 and Z-41.3-319, the leaflet 4/4/EN/6 and the relevant assembly, commissioning and maintenance instructions MI-4/4/EN/6 can be found on the internet at www.troxtechnik.com. The legal requirements for quality control are externally implemented by FMPA Baden-Württemberg. 2
