Sign in using your Internet Banking credentials. Read the Mobile Banking Terms & Conditions. Sign/Endorse back of check(s) Other Important Information: Maximum daily limits are $2,500.00 per item and $2,500.00 total deposits per day. Checks deposited prior to 3:00PM (EST) will be posted to your account the same business day. Those received after this cut-off time will be processed on the next business day. Note: Funds should be available within (2) business days (Monday-Friday, excluding holidays); however, extended holds may be placed on items at the sole discretion of The First National Bank of Suffield. Only 1 check may be submitted per deposit. Your deposit(s) will not appear on Internet Banking until after 3:00PM (EST) You can track your deposit s progress by reviewing Deposit History in the mobile app. Destroy the check(s) within thirty days AFTER you ve confirmed the deposit was credited. We do not accept the following checks: o Checks drawn on a financial institution outside the United States. o Third party checks. o Checks payable jointly, unless deposited into an account in the name of all payees. o Checks dated more than 6 months (Stale Dated) prior to the date of deposit. o Checks dated more than 1 day (Post Dated) after the date of deposit. o Checks that are drawn on or produced from any of your FNBS account(s), written to yourself, and authorized by yourself for deposit to your own account. Tips for a good photo: Take photo in a well-lit area. Place check on a solid, dark background. Keep your phone flat & steady above the check when taking your photo. Hold camera as square to the check as possible to reduce corner to corner skew. Make sure that the entire check image is visible and in focus before submitting your deposit. The MICR line (numbers on the bottom of the check) is readable. 1
Consumer view The user accesses mobile banking via The First National Bank of Suffield s downloaded application using their iphone or Android device. User logs onto Mobiliti with their online banking credentials. (1) Select Deposits from the menu Select New Deposit The Deposits menu becomes available to the user, based on user eligibility. Note: If the Deposits menu item is not displayed, then the user is not flagged as eligible by the FI. (2) Select the account to deposit funds Enter the deposit amount of the check Select Continue (3) 2
The user is prompted to take the front and back of the check After each image is taken, user selects Use Photo to send the image or Retake The images are then uploaded to the server The images are validated to ensure image quality and to validate that the back of the check has been endorsed (4) (5) Real time tests are performed to: Verify it has not been deposited before via phone Read hand or machine printed amount from image Compare amount read from image to amount entered Verify the check amount doesn t exceed FI defined limits Note. A number of other real time tests are performed to verify the check is not foreign, IRD, savings bond, or has bad RTN, verify that the check is good, is not a duplicate, can be read clearly, and doesn t exceed deposit limits defined by the Financial institution. 3
Submit a deposit Once user sends the image, they are prompted to confirm deposit amount. (6) Deposit pending If the deposit passes all the real time tests, it is passed downstream for additional processing. Some deposits may be manually reviewed; for this reason, the deposit shows as Pending upon submission. (7) 4
View Deposit History The history reflects the status of the check capture, not the posting of the check to the financial account. The user is able to view 30 days of deposit history captured from their mobile device. Click deposit to view more details The user can also click View Check to view the image The user can: view Details Logout view Front view Back Note. A check could be rejected by the core processing platform after being accepted by Source Capture (i.e. stop payment, etc.) after being Accepted by the Mobile Deposit system. Users must check their account history to confirm the check was posted. 5
The First National Bank of Suffield Mobile Check Deposit FAQ s What is Mobile Check Deposit? Mobile Check Deposit is a service that allows a customer to submit a check to The First National Bank of Suffield for deposit through a Smartphone or Android device. This is done by capturing an image of the front and back of the check (using the camera on the device) to be deposited and then submitting the image to The First National Bank of Suffield via the device. Is The First National Bank of Suffield s Mobile app required in order to use this service? Yes. The customer must first be signed up for Internet Banking before downloading the Mobile App. The customer must download The First National Bank of Suffield s Mobile Banking app to a camera-enabled Apple IOS or Android device. Mobile Check Deposit is not available by means of a computer or non-apple IOS/Android device. Are there deposit limits and/or check holds for deposits made through Mobile Check Deposit? Yes. In order to maintain practical risk standards, limits and hold rules apply and are at the sole discretion of The First National Bank of Suffield. The current daily dollar limit is $2,500.00 per deposit and $2,500.00 total deposits per business day. If a deposit is attempted to be processed that exceeds the daily limit, the customer will receive an error message. Is there a fee for this service? No. Currently, the Mobile Check Deposit service is available to our customers free of charge. The only fees you may incur would be data fees from your mobile service provider. Are funds immediately available after the items have been accepted? No. Mobile deposits are subject to holds and at the sole discretion of The First National Bank of Suffield.
How will the customer know when the funds have been deposited into their account and available for use? The customer can view all their transaction history 24/7 through on line/mobile banking. They will not receive specific notification when the deposit has been made and the funds are available. How long should a customer expect to have to wait before their deposit is completed and the funds are available? Funds should be available within (2) business days (Monday-Friday, excluding holidays); however, extended holds may be placed on items at the sole discretion of The First National Bank of Suffield. Will the customer receive a receipt for the deposit? The customer will receive an on-screen confirmation on the device used to make the deposit. How will the customer be notified if the deposit is not accepted? The deposit history on the mobile device will reflect the status of the deposit (pending, accepted or failed). What should you do with the check once it has been scanned? You check(s) should be stored in a safe place for 30 days from the date of your deposit. After 30 days, destroy the check using a secure destruction method (i.e. shredding). Please note: some phone settings may store the image file on the phone. Check with your mobile service provided or phone manufacturer to remove the files or change the settings in order to not store the files when the image is taken. EQUAL HOUSING LENDER Member
