Volunteer Job Descriptions Let us know the areas in which you are most interested in volunteering. Volunteer areas for this year's JazzFest are listed below. Please read key before answering. KEY: (C) Computer Use; (I) Indoor Assignment; (O) Outdoor Assignment (varied weather conditions); (OT) Outdoor assignment in Tents (not climate controlled), (L) Heavy Lifting (up to 50 lbs.), (W) Walking Required; (M) Handling of Money (must be able to make change); (J) Junior Volunteers (ages 11-17) Welcome Greeter/Gate Volunteer: Assist with information booth activities, ticket lines, crowd control and patron questions; greeting guests; distribute festival programs, kids club cards and gatefolds. (I,O,W,J) Not Distribution Volunteer: Sort and distribute T-Shirts; identify and provide appropriate credentials for staff, crew, artists, and volunteers. Includes greeting and hosting outdoor performers. (C,I,O,W) Not Info Booth Manager Volunteer: Assist volunteer coordinator with volunteer check-in and oversee volunteer participation at the JazzFest Information Booth. (C,OT,M) Not Setup/Tear-Down Volunteer: Assist with setup and tear-down of outdoor activities at Playhouse Square. This includes assisting with banners, vendor tents, booths, signage, etc. (Note: Tear-down crew works a late shift from 10PM-2PM, meal provided.) (O,L,W,J) Not Education Volunteer: Assist with band escorts and guides during the Tri-C JazzFest Vocal Jazz Day (February) and Downbeat Jazz Education Days (April). Assist with guiding/greeting jazz camp students for performances during jazz camp and JazzFest weekend (June). Hospitality Monitor Volunteer: Assist artists' liaison and production managers in preparation and delivery of food and beverage to various festival locations; monitor rooms to ensure they are clean and stocked with appropriate artist/crew requirements. (I,L,W) Not Merchandise Table Volunteer: Sell artist CDs before, during, and after theater performance. Includes handling of money and budget reporting. (I,OT,L,M) Not Box Office Volunteer: Assist with JazzFest ticket sales and mailings. May provide on-site assistance as needed during JazzFest. (C,I,L,M) Not Driver Volunteer: Must be an employee of Tri-C and registered as an approved diver for College. Travel to stores, restaurants, airport, JSTC and Metro Campus for festivalrelated needs. (Note: Drivers must take annual driver safety test.) (C) Not Senior Ambassador: Assist JazzFest volunteers as well as Playhouse Square RedCoats during the festival. Times That Work for You Help us identify your availability for volunteer shifts by selecting all that apply to your availability during the JazzFest weekend. A volunteer shift is four hours long. People working two consecutive four-hour shifts will be provided a meal ticket. Volunteers may not work more than two consecutive shifts in a day. Note: This is a guide to assist the JazzFest team and not an actual schedule. Volunteers will work with the volunteer coordinator to schedule their actual volunteer shifts.
