SALISBURY UNIVERSITY (SU) BACCALAUREATE SOCIAL WORK PROGRAM AND MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK PROGRAM ASSESSMENT OF SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE COMPETENCY Field Evaluations Academic Year 2013-2014 The Council on Social Work Education s (CSWE) 2008 Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS) outlines ten competencies that are common to all of social work practice. These competencies represent dimensions of social work practice that all social workers are expected to master during their professional training. Salisbury University Social Work Field students are assessed on their mastery of the 52 practice behaviors associated with the ten competencies. The field evaluation data are presented below by program level. BASW Field Evaluations Students are assessed on 52 practice behaviors for the BASW program Evaluations are completed in the Fall and the Spring BASW returned evaluations: o Fall 2013 = 99 o Spring 2014 = 97 Level of Competency Rating scale: 5 = Highly Achieved 4 = Achieved 3 = Moderately Achieved 2 = Minimally Achieved 1 = Not Achieved 0 = Unable to Evaluate (UA) The Fall and Spring column values reflect the percent of students receiving moderately achieved, achieved or highly achieved scores for each practice behavior. The Fall Benchmark was 75% and the Spring Benchmark was 80% Ratings of Unable to Evaluate were not included in the analysis
