Active Flow is a trademark of low molecular weight polyethylene improves the plastic injection and extrusion process, which helps minimize production energy costs, with no compromise on product performance and aesthetic quality. Plastic injection and extrusion efficiency is dependent upon several aspects, among them, machines and plastics resins quality. It can, however, be improved with the use of this groundbreaking product. Active Flow is an additive intending to improve the efficiency of plastic injection and extrusion and the quality of the end products. 13
Active Flow is available in pastille form, so it can be mixed well with polyolefin resin pallets, generate no dust pollution and re-segregation in hoppers. Grade Form Viscosity at 149 C (gcm 3 ) Density (gcm 3 ) LP1040T Pastile 15-40 0.94 Dropping point ( C) Penetration index (d.mm) 116 2 Recommended Application - Film extrusion - Extrusion blow molding - Injection molding Key Characteristic - Low viscosity - Good heat stability - Highly compatible with polyolefin - Improve flowability - Improve productivity - Improve color dispersion - Reduce processing temperature - Easy to handle and mixing - FDA compliance 14
Key Characteristics Only 1-3% of Active Flow can be mixed well with various resin types in injection and extrusion process, for example, flexible packaging, electrical appliance, automotive part, and etc. Production Process Extrusion Injection Applications Film Monofilament Yarn Sheet Compound - Industrial Product - Electrical Appliance Part - Automotive Part Plastic Resin Type HDPE LLDPE LDPE PP Homopolymer PP Block Copolymer Key Benefit - Up to 20% electricity saving - Increase higher output - Improve additives and color dispersion - 10%-25% cycle time reduction and increase production rate - Easy to inject - Improve surface gloss - Improve dispersion of fillers or pigments - Improve mold release - Alternative with lower MFR materials 15
Key Characteristics Poor Dispersion Good Dispersion dispersion Active Flow has low surface tension, which creates better wetting properties. Therefore, Active Flow helps article to have better color or additive dispersion in compound processing. Active Flow makes the color shade of plastic products become darker, so the pigment amount can be reduced. No toxic cont tes to food container Active Flow complied with U.S. FDA 21CFR 172.888 (b) and U.S. FDA 21CFR 178.3710, which means it can be used safely for food contact products or containers 16
