Job Description & Person Specification JOB TITLE: RESPONSIBLE TO: Corporate Social Responsibility Manager Director of Operations SALARY: 30,000-40,000 LAST REVIEWED: January 2018 ROLE OVERVIEW: The Corporate Social Responsibility Manager is responsible for the management of all social value through the Planning System activity. By delivering key social value programmes as part of section 106, CIL and other planning legislation, the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager is specifically responsible for: 1. Social Value Programmes: design social value programmes to meet the needs of local authorities and support the implementation with developers. 2. Operational Management: to plan, execute all operational activity, including programme management, revenue and expenditure control and invoicing is undertaken in a timely manner. 3. Monitoring, measuring and reporting: to capture, track and report on all social impact generated 4. Relationship Management: with local authorities, developers and training & employment organisations Principal Accountabilities This is not a comprehensive list of all the tasks that may be required of the post holder. It is illustrative of the general nature and level of responsibility of the work to be undertaken and is subject to regular review. The post holder is also expected to carry out other duties which are broadly consistent with the role as identified below. Social Value Programmes 1. Lead on the design of social value programmes linked to the Planning System. 2. Review and develop appropriate processes and tools to support delivery. 3. Undertake analysis of planning proposals to forecast potential social value outcomes. 4. Translate the forecast into a social value delivery programme for each proposal. 5. Provide regular management reporting updates on programme performance in line with projections. 6. Identify and procure relevant supply chain partners for training, education and employment support. Operational Management 7. Manage all delivery projects relating to social value in the Planning System. 8. To ensure projects are effectively controlled, monitored and reported against 9. Manage all associated income, including invoicing and debtor management in line with budgets. 10. Manage expenditure in line with budgets. 11. Work with colleagues to establish local supply chain presence to support delivery objectives. 12. Manage the supply chain of providers to ensure high standards of delivery are maintained across all projects. 13. Ensure effective arrangements are in place to procure advice and guidance on technical planning matters from appropriate third party experts. Monitoring, measuring and reporting 14. Design and implement monitoring, measurement and reporting process, in line with Fusion21 s standard approach, to fully demonstrate the social impact generated. 15. Ensure all information relating to social impact is captured and processed to ensure real time reporting and in line with existing information systems and reporting methods. 16. Relationship Management 17. Develop effective working relationships with local authorities, developers, training & employment providers and any other relevant stakeholder. 18. Ensure effective account management is undertaken. 19. Represent Fusion21 at external social value related groups / forums to promote social value through the Planning System and contribute to best practise in delivery social value. Additional Responsibilities 20. To maintain a level of knowledge appropriate to the status of the post from which to advise changes in legislation, policies, requirements, guidance and best practice as it affects the operation of Fusion21. 21. To be a committed team member who actively supports team members through the provision of specialist skills or knowledge and the use of flexible resources within the wider team. 22. PERSON SPECIFICATION QUALITIES ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE CORE COMPETENCIES Ability to influence people and thrive in a change environment. Good interpersonal skills, able to build and manage effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Leadership and motivational qualities, evidenced by good track record of managing staff and/or consultants/contractors. Good written and oral communicational skills at senior management level. Energetic, enthusiastic and motivated. Excellent ICT skills, especially Word, Excel and Project. Highly numerate and literate, able to produce high quality management reports and other information. Experience of working within a performance focused culture. Strong Project Management skills and experience working within a project based environment. QUALITIES ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE JOB KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Experience of implementing social value in the planning system, including methodologies to capture and report social outcomes. Experience of designing and implementing social value approaches within the planning system. Experience of managing commercial activity linked to creating social value. Experience and understanding of Social investment, funding and outcomes reporting. Extensive experience of managing relationships with local authorities, developers, training providers and other key stakeholders. Experience of identifying & securing new business from existing and new clients. Experience of effective team leadership and the development of people. Experience of working within Social Housing and / or the Construction sector. Knowledge of development and working within a developer environment.
