What does Heathrow mean by Professional Collaboration Collaboration: Business relationships formed by committed organisations to maximise performance for the achievement of aligned objectives and creation of additional value Professional: Competent or skilled in a particular activity

Professional Collaboration relationships Clarity of purpose Aligned objectives Complementary skills Constructive / open challenge Optimised resources Joint management Integrated processes Mutual value

To Finish a couple of short stories On the back of Professional Collaboration, we can all add greater value through 1 st and 2 nd Tiers talking to each other earlier in projects

Story One Charlie (2 nd Tier) finds out about projects at Heathrow by talking to other suppliers

Charlie (2 nd Tier) wants to know what projects are going on at Heathrow that he could add value to Charlie goes to their emails and see s the Pipeline Spreadsheet sent from Heathrow via the 2 nd Tier inbox Hmmm I wonder what projects there are at Heathrow currently that I can add value to? This gives me an overview of the projects going on and which organisations are working on them. I need more detail, better give the key contacts a call Charlie goes to the contacts list also sent via the 2 nd Tier inbox. It gives the key contacts for each organisation (HAL/PD/DI). Charlie calls Sam (PD) and Jo (DI) to discuss... Sam (PD) and Jo (DI) are delighted to hear from Charlie Hi Sam/Jo its Charlie here! I see from the Pipeline Spreadsheet you are in early stages of Projects X, Y & Z. Hi Charlie, lovely to hear from you sure, let me tell you all about them and let s see how we can get the best value for Heathrow... I reckon I can add value. Can we discuss...?

Story Two Charlie (2 nd Tier) finds out about early design challenges on projects at Heathrow by talking to other suppliers

Charlie (2 nd Tier) also receives a one page project synposis periodically from the PDs Charlie contacts Alex (PD)... This is useful it outlines the project and key design challenges. I can definitely help with the challenges they have... Hi Alex its Charlie here! I see from your one page project synopsis you have some design challenges... Better give the key contact a call I reckon I can help. Can we discuss...? Alex is delighted to hear from Charlie Alex and Charlie discuss and agree how they can work together to deliver the best design as early as possible Hi Charlie lovely to hear from you sure, let me tell you all about it and let s see how we can get the best value for Heathrow... Wow what a great solution... we ve saved time, money, much better innovation and sustainability. Good job all round!
