Compostability certificates Our compostable products have been awarded the OK OK- compost conformity mark by VINÇOTTE the most authoritative certification body in Europe for compostable products (in compliance with normative EN13432).

Food-contact certificates And have been tested by the international laboratories EUROFINS and by NEOTRON (leaders in the market of analytical and consulting services for companies working in the food processing industry) to certify their suitability for food contact. 14

ISO Certificates Our company has been awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certification since 2010, a further proof of quality and reliability.

Auditing on manufacturing sites Moreover, we cooperate with external bodies to verify through on-site audits that the manufacturing practices of sites located abroad are compliant with EU standards for production of food contact materials. Thus, the whole production chain from the manufacturing of the raw material to the finished products is certified, and its compliance with EU standards has been verified.

Ethical products Our compostable products are biobased, made of vegetable raw materials from non-food crops. They are not from corn or other edible crops. For this reason they are ETHICAL products, which do not take food resources away from humanity

LCA (life cycle assessment) of PLA: environmental advantages The LCA accounts for all the environmental impacts associated with a product, covering all stages in a product s life: Procurement manufacturing use disposal Assessment Standard: ISO 14040 Assessment items: 1.Total energy consumption 2.Total greenhouse gas emissions

PLA life cycle The ultimate end products after disposal via composting are CO2, water and minerals: after use, PLA products can be composted and returned to the earth through industrial composting.

Conclusions Produced with biobased PLA from non-food crops, cultivated using traditional farming methods; No impact on the human food chain, therefore ethical; After use our PLA products can be composted and returned to earth, where they come from, becoming soil fertilizer; Completely turn into compost within the timeframe set by EN 13432 standard (Vinçotte OK OK-Compost conformity mark); BPA free, without bisphenol A, the carcinogenic compound which can be found in the most common plastic products used in the food industry; Petroleum free, taking biomass as raw material instead of fossil fuel Less energy consumption and less CO2 emissions during production compared to PET, PVC, PP and other fossil-based plastics; Our bio-based based packaging materials from renewable resources (ethical ( PLA) not only are good for the environment, but will grant to your products an important competitive advantage in their environmental profile.
