IBM United States Software Announcement 215-090, dated May 19, 2015 IBM Workload Automation on Cloud delivers selfservice automation and scheduling optimization for hybrid IT Table of contents 1 Overview 5 Technical information 2 Key prerequisites 6 Ordering information 2 Planned availability date 7 Terms and conditions 2 Description 8 Prices 4 Program number 9 Order now 5 Publications 10 Corrections At a glance IBM (R) Workload Automation on Cloud, formerly known as IBM Workload Automation (SaaS): Delivers self-service automation in a full software as a service delivery mode and with zero up front investment. Accelerates the automation of processes with quick start solutions (templates for typical retail, inventory, and payroll processes). Reduces costs by automating workflows with flexible dynamic scheduling. Enables application developers' autonomy with a dedicated interface that simplifies the definition and monitoring of their process automation. Manages automation on hybrid configurations, where processes are run across on-premises and cloud applications. Order now For ordering, contact your IBM representative or an IBM Business Partner. For more information, contact the Americas Call Centers at: 800-IBM-CALL (426-2255). Reference: YE001 Overview IBM Workload Automation on Cloud, formerly known as IBM Workload Automation (SaaS), is a full software as a service (SaaS) solution, which allows enterprises to focus on getting control and optimization of the background execution of workflows, avoiding the complications and costs of deploying and managing a full server scheduling infrastructure. You can standardize and optimize the management and workload automation of your processes with automatic promotion of jobs, proactive alerting, and embedded recovery. Workload Automation on Cloud helps application developers to rapidly apply powerful dynamic scheduling to business intelligence applications thanks to numerous connectors and ready-to-use process templates. New integrations are made available regularly, which makes the solution valuable for enterprise scheduling exploitation. IBM United States Software Announcement 215-090 IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 1

Workload Automation on Cloud is available through IBM Service Engage and includes a free Application Catalog on-line service that provides: Templates for typical retail, inventory, and payroll processes. Simple processes for integration with business intelligence or IT solutions, such as SAP, Oracle for ebusiness, IBM Cognos (R), IBM InfoSphere (R) DataStage (R), and Salesforce.com. Reusable big data application templates that integrate easily with Hadoop and IBM InfoSphere BigInsights TM based applications. Workload importers for Crontab, Microsoft TM Windows TM Task Scheduler, and IBM Workload Scheduler. Key prerequisites Supported browser Internet connection Planned availability date May 29, 2015 Description IBM Workload Automation on Cloud, formerly known as IBM Workload Automation (SaaS), provides a workload automation solution hosted in the cloud. The solution offers a rapid time to value, but at the same time offers the full power to describe complex business processes and calendar conditions. Workload Automation on Cloud drives the execution of background workloads with full governance. Workload Automation on Cloud is built on the rock solid IBM Workload Scheduler (formerly known as IBM Tivoli (R) Workload Scheduler) solution, a solid foundation to model and orchestrate business flows and run millions of jobs daily. On that solid foundation, it adds integration with leading edge applications, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and IBM business intelligence solutions, to model and orchestrate increasingly heterogeneous flows and map complex business scenarios. With Workload Automation on Cloud, users can benefit from quick start solutions to map automation to their processes in a few simple steps. In addition to the various application templates and connectors available in an Application Catalog, existing workloads definitions can be imported from different sources: Crontab and Microsoft Windows Task Scheduler. Workload Scheduler on-premises workloads can be imported to software as a service (SaaS) through an intuitive wizard that guides the user through the import process. In particular, a find and replace feature helps to quickly adapt the on-premises workload to the SaaS environment. Workload Automation on Cloud capabilities Application Catalog Application contents for automation is a fundamental part of Workload Automation on Cloud. Application contents are a set of template flows, with their content jobs realizing a useful business scenario, and the items that present these flows in a simplified way to business users. Each application strongly links the business problem with a well designed solution, with the details of actual resolution steps and with a fine presentation layer. This helps the collaboration between application development teams, business analysts, and operations. Users consume the content IBM United States Software Announcement 215-090 IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 2

by selecting them in the catalog and activating them in their SaaS instance. They set the initial parameters and can adjust settings later from the Application Lab. Application Lab interface Designed for business application developers with little time and IT operations knowledge, the Application Lab displays applications in a streamlined format, for easy visualization and manipulation. The user understands when an application is due to run and on which agent. New applications can be created based on standard building blocks (jobs). Applications can be published on the Self-Service Catalog so that business users use it through mobile devices or tablet devices to start their processes at anytime from anywhere. The Application Lab is integrated with Dynamic Workload Console, enabling users to easily extend greater automation options to any business flow. Dedicated interfaces to user profiles for greater user autonomy Workload Automation on Cloud provides easy-to-use interfaces dedicated to user profiles, allowing teams autonomy and without requiring expensive staff training: Application Developer can model and monitor their automated processes in a single pane interface (Application Lab interface), which also allows you to quickly import predefined processes from a catalog of integrated solutions (inventory management with SAP for example) or from existing scheduling solutions (IBM Workload Scheduler, Crontab, or Microsoft Windows Task Scheduler). Schedulers and operators can exploit the full Dynamic Workload Console to extend the automation flexibility, manage complex dependencies, and manage workloads against defined Service Level Agreements. Users, and in particular line-of-business managers, have the flexibility to run and monitor workloads wherever they are through a mobile Self-Service Catalog and dashboards. Hybrid scheduling Enterprises have an increasing need of managing applications across on-premises and cloud-based solutions. Workload Automation on Cloud is made for these business imperatives and helps connect heterogeneous flows, bridging resources and workloads managed by on-premises systems and cloud-based solutions. In a SaaS context, security is a top priority and it is very likely that agents need to traverse one or several firewalls to reach the master. For this reason, the agent first deployed acts as a gateway between the on-premises agents and the SaaS instance. The gateway agent knows where to find the server and contacts it directly, therefore, aligning with the most common firewall rules and Network Address Translation setup present in complex network setups. This simplifies deployment and eliminates the need to require special conditions for network administrators. IBM Service Engage Workload Automation on Cloud is available on the Service Engage website. Service Engage is an online engagement exchange that helps practitioners build and manage next generation applications and infrastructure better, faster, and with dramatically less effort. Practitioners get instant insight into IBM Service Management and onpremise capabilities by: Learning through videos, blogs, articles, and references customers' and analysts' feedback. Exploring through hosted, live demos that include precanned data. A guided tour and online sandbox are personalized by user profiles. Trying through private, secure trials provisioned just for you in less than 10 minutes. New visitors can now start using their trial as soon as they request a personal trial online. need to download an agent to start seeing scheduling in action.
